That song was a B-Side on a 45 (remember those?) I bought while that alsum was still on the charts, and I bought it just for the unreleased song. I appreciate and respect your opinion of the song, but for me it was a throwaway, and did nothing for me.

I'm with you on this one I guess. But talking The seventh one; how about a remaster with a 2nd disc containing unreleased songs and live recordings from that tour!!?? It's time isn't it?!

From the Seventh One Tour...There is one good show I know of with Joe before his voice took a crap, from Osaka I believe - the audio is 'ok' but lots of overload as it's a Sound board bootleg. GREAT performances however, including the Dune Theme...Includes an interesting David Paich solo and Luke solo (from the over processed era, which I still dig). After David's solo, Luke introduces him and says 'David Paich...Thrill Seeker' It's friggen hysterical..

Other than that show, and the show I seem to recall seeing in my youth (at Ventura Theater, CA), I think Joe's voice was toast.

The Seventh One Song is 'ok', kind of a jam tune, with Joe skattin' throughout most of it...

As far as openening up the archives - that would be interesting...Some good performances from the Isolation Tour as well..I wonder what is out there...I would imagine lots of tapes are lying around somewhere, but who knows...Maybe Toto XXX (just the music guys..lol)

cheers!

The Osaka show is in fact from after Joseph toasted his voice. That was while in Europe the month before. To be fair, he did have a severe flu for awhile, though the drugs certainly did not help. In Japan in April he was not sick, which certainly helped his voice a tad bit. He wasn't all that bad singing at the festivals in June and July either, though his voice certainly had taken a beating (though no worse than Lukather on the, say, Candyman tour in 1994). As for Toto live tapes from the archives, I'm sure they have a lot of them, but chances are we will never ever see an officially released Toto live recording not stemming from professionally recorded multi-track tapes, contrary to the 2-track sound desk reference recordings which I suspect the 80's live tapes all are...
