Toto - King of Balance - Cover / Tribute Album

Postby brandonx76 » Fri Dec 21, 2012 7:41 pm

This is by far the best covered material of Toto I've heard to date...really just knock it out of the park - taking the best of the live arrangements, and still making it their own thing. I can't believe this hasn't gotten more press / notice. Incredible performances just off what I heard on You Tube.

Here's a few links:

from what I understand it's a hard cd to come by.

Thanks for the videos, but the guy that sings the high parts has some kind of weird accent (or am I just imagining this?).
While I normally like covers, Toto is the only band where I just can't stand them. Their versions are already perfect, why change them?
Personally I think this is really bad. But it's great if you like it :)

Yeah, there's an accent on some of them - there are different singers on different tracks. Some great moments musically, an absolutely great versions of White Sister and Hydra... but "Really bad"? I wouldn't say that...I'm just thankful it's in english. Lots of European based singers out there fronting Melodic rock bands, and they are great. Different, but great. Musicianship here is again stellar all around I think...but even I had a hard time with "Lion".

Just caught up to this thread and listened to some of the King of Balance material. They do a very good job covering Toto IMHO both musically and vocally.
