I agree there, they were scheduled to do Jimmy Kimmel and cancelled for some reason....does make it appear that Journey just isn't interested in doing TV as I believe you'd stated...

I am not the only to believe that. Seems real obvious that Journey just doesn't "feel the need". They are stuck in cruise control, they have found/accepted balance between least amount of work and best benefits.

Now ToTo appears to still be hungry. They appear to be very proud of their latest release and feel it is the best one to stand behind on US soil! I applaud their work, both on record and on the road!

ToTo doesn't have 1/20th the Bank Journey has/gets. They need to be hungrier.

Having said that though, why is Bruce Springsteen doing the Today show Monday and Tuesday? Yes, he is promoting something new and something different(acoustic album and tour), but He doesn't need to do that!

I just got FIB yesterday, I think it has elements of all Toto has done before but is still new and fresh. Great production too. I hope Toto will add to their US schedule. I don't understand Journey where TV is concerned, it wouldn't take much effort to make the trip from the Bay area to LA to make a couple of appearances.

I was surprised by the progressive elements on FIB. I have never been a big ToTo fan but the CD is good. It did not settle with me as well as some other CDs, but I think that has to do with my limited experience with the band. But the CD certainly does have a good sound and I would say that all the variety will add to it's longevity.

Journey just doesn't "get it" when it comes to self-promotion. And their management does not push them at all. I think Barruck only manages what Journey is already doing. I would love someone to get in Journey's face and say 'this is what YOU are going to do'! I think that is why HH was so good for the band. Basically I think Journey just wants to play live and make their money.......

I'd like to have seen even more of the progressive element. They have touched on that with a couple of instrumental tracks from Kingdom of Desire and Tambu, the two albums fronted by Lukather. I believe KOD is probably their hardest rocking cd.

Evidently your assessment of Journey is right on.

At this point in time Deano, Toto are kicking Journey's ass - on record and on innovation.

I guess you can never stop. TV's audience changes all the time, any artist would benefit from keeping a face on TV.

Hold the phone Chuck.

As pissed as i am with Journey, they still draw a lot bigger than TOTO, correct?

And I was also referring to the hit songs in the vault and the enormous jack Journey has collected.

Andrew, I am not bashing TOTO, just saying, Journey probably collects more in royalties a month than TOTO makes in CD sales.

No disrespect to you, Andrew.

Well Journey They sure can make bigger concert than Toto can do in Usa. But Toto are still huge in Europe Their last tour here Falling in between was almost sold out it was just about 2-3 dates that wasen't completely sold out. I saw them I stockholm and they are on fire I tell you they still got "it". And Falling in betwenn made it to every charts in Europe. And I think the Asian leg is almost sold out to!

But I'm a huge Journey fan aswell and I'm not Journey against Toto or anything I love both bands. And I can't tell how Journey is live becouse They haven't toured here for more than 20 years. But I've got the Generation cd and I love the record but I rank Falling in between as a much better album.

And another thing I realised while reading the Toto and Journey forum is that there's seems to be a lost people that doesn't like Toto in the journey forum and I can't understand why. I think Toto and Journey is quite fimilliar.

Neal schon and Steve Lukather are verry good friends and have jamed many times together. And I think it was Neal that suggested to Luke they should try Frontiers as a label.

Well anyway I hope more Journey fans in the Us take the oppertunity to get into Toto's music with their new album this time.

Well is there any journey fan who is interested in trading? I've got tons of Toto Bootlegs but just 3 video concerts by journey?

I wish the toto99.com board was working also... I hope they get it back up soon.

Anyway, it was great to see Toto on US TV today. I thought the mix wasn't very good on Bottom of Your Soul though. Luke's vocals were too loud (especially at the beginning) and Tony's vocals weren't loud enough during the chorus.

Hopefully, they will sell more albums thanks to the performance... I noticed that Falling In Between is up to #234 at Amazon.com, but that is for the Frontiers release. It's not easy to find the US release, so maybe people are "accidentally" buying the Frontiers release.

Thanks Ray.
I guess that is why the TV blitz has begun. But it speaks volumes that I have not heard about the CD any where else...

Deano - no offence taken...

But I think you'll find the royalty check's from these two band's pretty much on par over worldwide sales.

Journey are bigger in the USA, but through Asia, Australia and Europe....Toto are easily bigger.

And just to clarify, I meant it's not easy to find the US Release on amazon.com. When you search for Toto, the Frontiers release is at the very top of the page and the US release isn't even on the first page. I'm not sure about the availability in music stores, etc.

Unfortunate that they ended the tune before the cool guitar and keys section. I've heard the weekend version of Extra will include more Toto footage???

Am I correct that Joseph was with them for the Extra performance, but not on the Regis performance? And Dave was on the Regis one?

I didn't see the Extra performance last night, only the brief one Tue. Did anyone see last nights?

I remember the same thing happening with Generations when it was release. I forget exactly, but either a search would send you to the import CD page, and not show the others, or the US would be way down the page. Amazon has changed the way everything is displayed since then.

You got it right, but David Paich was also on Extra. I thought the performance was pretty good, but the mix was not good (worse than Regis). Unfortunately Joseph's vocals were barely audible and Greg's harmony line was way too loud. The chorus just didn't sound right with the harmony line being toward the front of the mix... Luke's acoustic guitar was also barely audible.

The camera shots were actually pretty good and Luke's vocals were balanced better than Regis, but they still needed more reverb/delay...

I think Bottom of Your Soul needs a great mix to really shine and that definitely wasn't the case on the Extra performance.
