I've been a big Toto fan since the early 80's. After having my eyes opened with the huge success of 'IV', I checked out some of their earlier work. To this day, 'IV' still rates as my top pick. Closely followed by 'The Seventh One' and 'Fahrenheit' respectively. It's a shame Joseph Williams is no longer in the band. He was amazing on lead vocals! I thought Isolation really rocked musically, but I had a hard time listening to Fergie's singing. (Sorry.) Although 'Mindfields' wasn't as widely received as I thought it would be, I still think it's an incredible CD. It's good to see (and hear) Bobby Kimball back in the fold! So there you have it, my top four favorite Toto albums...

1. IV
2. The Seventh One
3. Fahrenheit
4. Mindfields

Lukather 3'rd cd??

Postby brandonx76 » Mon May 24, 2004 11:49 am

According to my records there have been 3 Lukather CDs:

1) Lukather '89 (Originally titled: "I hate every bone in your body but mine")
2) Candyman '94 (Released as Los Lobotomy's stateside, everwhere else as Steve Lukather)
3) Luke '97

A fourth?? I would wager some of the tunes on Mindfields could've been considered for another Luke record - but nonetheless, I'm sure something's waiting in the wings. Wouldn't it be f'in great if he brought back all the 80's effects and collaborated with all of LA's finest (Colauita, Landau, etc etc etc...)

Luke can piss on something and I would buy it

cheers

One thing struck me.
Isolation leads this poll as the best record but yet I've seen that Fergie isn't so popular by many Toto-fans. How come that Isolation gets most votes? Is it because the songs that Fergie don't sing is amazing? Is it because that the songs overall is better than on the other records?

Quite interesting to know your opinions on this.

Im one of those who voted "Isolation". It´s best in my opinion because its the Toto album which has perfect amount of hard rock influence. Not too little like Fahrenheit or too much like Kingdom of desire.

And Fergie´s vocals are great if you compare to Joe Williams who sounds on some tracks like Michael Jackson which is quite bad insult. In my opinion Fergie is close second after Bobby

It's aninteresting one.....I don't rate Isolation very highly, it sounds terribly dated to me.
IMO, IV, Seventh One, Kingdom of Desire, even Tambu and Mindfields are superior to Isolation. Go figure.

I have to add to this "isolation" subject that one more reason for its excellence is that it doesnt have any filler songs. Toto guys are so great musicians they cannot compose bad song but even they tend to slip through their fingers maybe one or two more average songs per album but "isolation" didnt have any of those.

I chose Toto IV. Its the only Toto Album I own, since Africa is the most played Toto song on the radio here, this album is everywhere.

I would like to get some more albums.
