Falling In Between Live 2007 - 3 years later.

It was 3 years ago this week, that the Falling In Between DVD was recorded. I watched it again to look back in time and I'm sorry but this DVD is just painful to witness. Take the awesome Amsterdam DVD from 2003, now THAT was one awesome show! Toto still had most of it's living original members, the band looked really motivated too and the performances were really well done. It was a show that really made you feel good.

The Falling In Between DVD is just depressing on so many levels. Toto's 30 year history ended on a really sad note and this DVD shows that. David Paich and Mike Porcaro were both gone. Luke looked bored and was going through the motions. Bobby's singing was declining and I guess that's the reason for the dreaded autotune which made the DVD even worse. Also, while Lee and Greg were both very talented, they didn't fit the band at all and it just made me miss Mike and Dave even more. Luke made the right decision in ending Toto but I wish he ended it a year earlier. Toto should NEVER have continued without Mike. 2007 was a really sad end.

I'm glad Toto is reforming in the summer, I'm sure the performances will be much better than the 2007 ones. Espically since Steve P and Dave are going to be there.

Yup, the DVD sucks. It's just really bland. Greg doesn't fit in with Toto at all, but Sklar does. That man is pure awesomeness! The best DVD is without a Toto - Live in Paris (Toto's Greatest Hits Live)

Amsterdam was a killer DVD. It was cool to hear some of the stuff on here - of course, all the FIB songs. I wish I'll Be Over You and Stop Loving You had been done full electric too - those rearrangements weren't nearly as cool as the electronic groove While My Guitar Gently Weeps and Won't Hold You Back rearrangements on Amsterdam.

All the obvious "fixes" don't help matters for this disc, either.

With all that said, I still wouldn't mind getting the Blu Ray.

I disagree about Greg & Sklar not fitting in, but I do agree about the rest, mostly. It's weird how much things had changed only 4 years since they recorded the Amsterdam DVD. I enjoy some of it, a killer "Drag Him To The Roof" and of course the great FIB songs.

I'm okay with it as a snapshot of that era of the band, but I only wish there was official live material from the classic era to balance out the disproportionate number of live releases they put out after Jeff passed.

Well I'll be damned, I had no idea there was a Blu-Ray for Amsterdam too! Does anybody have the Blu Ray? If so, how is it?

Seriously? I thought they were done forever. I have a boot of this 2007 concert and it is terrible, IMO. If they are reuniting, I'm stoked!
