THE FINAL 30 DAYS

Postby froy » Wed Nov 26, 2003 6:21 am

We are getting close to what should be the final day's of Styx 5.1 part 2.

Larry Gowan can go back to his once blooming solo career.
Ricky the new bass player will head off into the studio not ever really being a part of the band.

The reluctant legend will go back to his mac computer and try to come up with a new DVD.

Tommy Shaw will go back to The Damm Yankee's and bomb out big time as there day's are long over.

So what will the future hold for Styx.
I say it may be over for at least 3 years,
Then again who knows.

Did you enjoy the Journey Concert??????? How was the flight??????? Who is in that band currently?? I sure wish I knew how to spell hypocrittt. Is this the right spelling?? I guess we will just call you a TYPE2 fan of the band Styx. What are the sales totals of DDY's new double CD?? Did it enter the charts higher than 127??? Have any of his new tunes reached top 40 status???? Come on whats the excuse now???? Slant those facts! When are they recasting Hunchback?? I REALLY do wish Dennis the ABSOLUTE best. Its his psycho fans that really come into question. Have a GREAT Thanksgiving Type2. I hope there is some more Journey shows for you down the pipe.

([quote="froy"]We are getting close to what should be the final day's of Styx 5.1 part 2.)

(So what will the future hold for Styx.)

Here is your answer from Tommy's note on the Styx website.

......."We will be launching the new STYXworld site in a couple of weeks, if all the pieces continue to fall in place at the rate they are.

We've been floating an idea for next summer and if it comes together we will be some happy campers, knowing we have another summer of fun to look forward to.
what better way to spend a summer than on stage with STYX? As I have said to JY, many times, "I had time off in the 80's and it's OVERRATED!".......

This also from the Styx website.

2/24/04 - Starland Ballroom - Sayreville, NJ
An Evening W/Styx
2/26/04 - Lowell Memorial Auditorium - Lowell, MA
An Evening W/Styx
3/19/04 - Gulfstream Park - Hallandale, FL
An Evening W/Styx
3/20/04 - Wild Adventures Theme Park - Valdosta, GA
An Evening W/Styx
7/4/04 - Blue Ash Sports Center - Blue Ash, OH
An Evening W/Styx

It looks like Froy is WRONG AGAIN.

Sheesh! (is that a word)...by the time that 4th of july show comes up, Dennis will be invited back into the band only to find Tommy and JY have been replaced by Mungo Jerry (in the summertime) and Ray Stevens (the streak)...of course it will still be STYX right???

Of course it will still be Styx there playing Ballrooms now.
Next it will be pool rooms and the pizza joints .
Im sorry Tommy but you should go back to your vacation like you did in the 80's.

((Of course it will still be Styx there playing Ballrooms now.

The point of my post was to show that The Great And Mighty Froy was WRONG again!! Styx will be playing and recording for some time to come. There will be new Styx music again in 2005 (write this down Froy, I know what I am talking about) and many more tours! As for Dennis, he is all but done. When he can't find a record deal you know the end is near. I told you no one in the bussness wanted to put up with his crap! Speaking of crap, the samples of the songs on his home made cd are a lot longer then 30 seconds. Most of them are well over a minute long some are over 2 minute. That is more then enough to get a feel for the songs. They are so bad I could hardly stand to listen to them. I am not kidding, they are really bad. No wonder you can't buy it in a store or even an online store. It must be hard for Froy to watch Dennis crash and burn and Styx still be a viable music act without him. I am not saying Styx is anywhere close to where they were in 1978. I know it, they know it, we all know it. But at the rate things are going for Dennis he will be cutting my grass next summer while Styx will be playing at the Tweeter Center!
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

First off Froy never said he was always right
Second of all It was my opinion.

Styx will be playing and recording for some time to come.

I have a feeling Styx is going to leech off the likes of an Aerosmith to keep the touring money comming in.

There will be new Styx music again in 2005 (write this down Froy, I know what I am talking about) and many more tours!

And that new cd will sell about 3000 units
So what.
The band is a joke.

As for Dennis, he is all but done.

His new cd is stunning.
Perfect quality
The man has a voice like no other.
Get a clue.

When he can't find a record deal you know the end is near.

That's right and when that happens let us know.

It must be hard for Froy to watch Dennis crash and burn and Styx still be a viable music act without him.

A viable act that plays ballrooms.
Any other observations?

I am not saying Styx is anywhere close to where they were in 1978.

You mean with Dennis.
Can't have it both ways man.

Wow. I guess there was a burning need to go to a slam fest. Seems rather silly to me. I've not denied that this lineup isn't my cup of tea, but hey, if this is what makes them happy, so be it. I'd be a whole lot happier if they didn't try to erase from memory all of DDY's contributions, or if they would stop slamming him in print or interviews, but then perhaps I am expecting a little too much class there.

As for Dennis and being done, well, gee I don't think so. But then, I don't get a sense that Chicago Styx was looking for opinion so much as having a really strong need to prove how much he dislikes the man and his music.

As for what either side is doing or going to do, does it really matter? I mean, we as fans, are going to see whichever ones make us happy.

I don't agree with most of the comments made here on either side (and yes I'm just as guilty as the next for taking some shots), so why don't we just let this little game of who can come up with the better put downs aside and move on.

Have a great holiday everyone

I'm thankful both sides are still making Music......my wish is for both of them to carry on, and do what makes THEM happy I think at this point in his life, DDY has earned the right to perform where and when he wants to
And I think the same applies to TS, JY and the Band. If at some point, they can put aside their differences and play together again, what a great bonus that would be for the fans. If not, so be it.....pop in your Return to Paradise DVD whenever you feel nostalgic, and remember "the best of times"

I wish a Happy and Safe Thanksgiving to all who come here !
