RICHARDS, SHAW DEAL OFF

Postby yogi » Wed Sep 07, 2005 10:54 pm

AP- A goiter currently the size of a grape, but with the potential to reach beachball size porportions has nixed the Kieth Richards for Tommy Shaw trade. The goiter found near the 106 year old Richard's right eye has the potential to balloon if the crows feet extending from the corner of Richards eye continue to multiply.

Styx spoksperson and legend James JY Young said the band was obviously disappointed that Richards did in fact fail his physical. " We are a band that likes to play 300 plus dates a year" Young was reported as saying." Richards like myself is pretty easy on the eyes. We have a large following of female fans that expect us to look as good as we sound. We just cant take a chance on his goiter growing, and what it could do to our attendance, and even our CD jacket and covers. We spoke to the head of Maybelline and we were informed that there is no way to mask this problem. Jim ( Cahil ) and myself will continue to explore our options".

Richards was very disappointed with the development. " My 211 year old Grandmother who still cuts mine and Micks hair has had a goiter problem similiar to mine as long as I have been alive. She is still considered 'hot' by the older men who come to our shows. For Styx to do this shows no class at all" Richards was reported as saying.

In a related story published in the London Pub it has been reported that Cahil has been shopping Shaw to the remaining and surviving members of the English Glam Band Sweet.

Styx, who played with Shaw last night in Burlington Iowa at the Second Annual Hula Hoop and Frisbee Golf Festival have added Little Willy, Fox On The Run, Ballroom Blitz, and Love Is Like Oxygen to their set.

Yogi, I'm glad you're back posting :)

I really wonder how long STYX and Stones are going to tour? Is someone really going to have to scrap them off the stage? LOL

Keith and Mick are about 62 years old, I didn't realize they were the same age.

I just realized that Tommy can now sign up for AARP, just like the other guys from STYX and the Stones. Now they all can their discounts at the restaurants and hotels - LOL

You know Yogi, the Sweet Styx combo is not a bad idea at all.
Sweet can rock with the best of them and they also had some great harmonies.(not as good as Styx).I would skip Little Willie for Hellraiser.
We could have the 2 surviving members of Sweet guitar and bass player,Todd and JY Tommy to make a full tilt 3 guitar onslaught.
Maybe more realistic, they could tour together and then have a set where they played together.
OK thats me wishfull thinking, but thanks for the idea.
Did see Sweet a couple of years ago and they were classic.
Come to think of it ,both bands covered Fanfare for the common man.
Jesus loves you ,but everybody else thinks you're a knob.

Unidentified sources have reported that talks are underway regarding a trade involving 3 bands, INXS, The Surviving Members of BADFINGER and STYX.

Reportedly, INXS would receive Tommy Shaws services, filling their need for a lead vocalist. Badfinger would acquire the services of the winner of the Live INXS TV show, filling a role that has been open since the tragic Death of their Vocalist Pete Ham, and Styx would be signed to Apple Records as their compensation.

When reached for comment, J.Y. stated that "it sure would be nice to be on a label people have actually heard of ! People come to see Styx because of the vocal work of LG and me anyways......Larry will just spin his Keyboards faster, and the fans won't even notice Tommy is missing" !

AP- A goiter currently the size of a grape, but with the potential to reach beachball size porportions has nixed the Kieth Richards for Tommy Shaw trade

[AP Update] The rumor mill is spinning. The latest: Keith Richards was actually injured in a tragic “keyboard spin” accident. Apparently, during one of the rehearsals involving the newly acquired Mr. Richards, he was duck-walking during a guitar solo and became stuck in that position. He was smacked on the side of the head by the spinning keyboard and knocked into the front rows of the rehearsal hall.

Reportedly Legendary Legend spokesman James “JY” Young said : “Yeah. He said he was “hurt” and could not “play” and for us to wait a bit for him. Of course we don’t believe him and are already actively looking for a replacement for him.”

In another related story, former heavy hitter Dennis DeYoung was reported practicing air guitar moves in a batting cage outside of Chicago. When pulled aside for a few comments, mid-arm swing, he said “I am so ready! I have songs galore in the piano bench at home just aching to be heard! ‘Hip Hop Hipocrasy, Parts 2, 3 and 4’! A killer re-do of 'First Time', which, FINALLY will be a single. And, of course, my updating and reworking of the timeless ‘Music Time’! Oh! And I really play the keyboards as opposed to pre-recording and ‘fake’ playing them. Plus, I can SING!!”

Bugsy
Change your hairdo. Change your name.
Congratulations! You're still the same.

I hate to gripe, but is there any way that FOR ONCE we all here can stay on the subject.

Froy , reports something ALL of us are aware of?????, that Tommy's contract with Styx is about to run out. This is the same fair and balanced reporting Froy has provided us all with since 1999.

Froy has ALWAYS had the inside info to the bands inner workings. Hell, look at the AP stories that broke only days after Froy gave us this credible???????? information.

What hacks me off is now we have these fictitious stories about Steve Perry's nose, Michale Jackson, Ebony & Ivory etc......

Please lets just stick to the facts here. I for one am afraid if we keep coming up with these WHOPPERS we could lose our one fact reporting poster in Froy.

Lets not turn this into another Journey board!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Shaw doesn't have a contract with the band STYX, he can come and go as he pleases. He can leave at any time.

I pretty much imagine that is the case with around 99.9 % of the people that are in the bands that were popular 20+ years ago.

Unless there is some sort of slavery issue in the rock and roll world that I am not aware of I would bet most singers/guitarists can probably come and go as THEY please.

I do remember one example when a contract kept a lead singer in place. But you have got to admit Styx is no Wang Chung???????
