Here it is

Here it is my 1000th post. Question is will it come in with a bang or go out with a whimper?

Carrot STYX, DeYoungian, Classic STYX, Current STYX – what does it matter. For more than 30 years the various incarnations of the band have brought us nothing but pleasure. Whether you listen to the music for inspiration or love, rock or a ballad, for the voice of one particular singer or the diversity of all three, or even the harmonies or the instrumental diversions, this band has brought us nothing but pleasure in their music. Always providing an optimistic view, they have brought us some of the best music of our lives. Forever, writing that soundtrack to our own personal lives. May they all find it within them to continue to bring their own style of music that makes them the happiest, and continue that soundtrack that began so many years ago. It’s not about the band politics, it’s about the music…… Let's hope they have more in them....

NH, I have to agree with you...This band will always be number 1 in my book when it comes to the music...Diversity is why I like this band so much, in Vocals, song writing, and music style...Despite the current situation and the politics, I will continue to support both factions when they make great music... 8)

Only 8 minutes to trash the band as it is now constituted.

They sure did bring the me the best music of my life!! Love, Rock or a Ballad, that's why I love STYX so much, the variety of music. You can't get that with any of today's music.

It’s not about the band politics, it’s about the music…… Let's hope they have more in them....

I love the music!!! But with the band politics, some people just can't let go, sorry, but I'm one of those people for obvious reasons. BUT, I'm trying to be a little better instead of bitter.

Froy, like I always tell you, you're one of a kind (LOL)

If we all got along on this board, it would be so boring. There's really nothing going on, Styx is still touring with the same set list, usually the same cities, not recording anything new for now. Dennis is selling out concerts in Canada, he has a new Christmas single, making tv and radio appearances and still working on his new cd which will probably be released late next year.

Well, if they want to bring me some Sprite, that's just fine. There are other sodas out there that I like better, but, if they bring it, I'll drink it! Sprite is OK with me!

I know it's not right to bite the hand that feeds you, or in this case brings you carbonated beverages, but geez !!!!!! How about some variety once in a while ! Sprite, Sprite and more Sprite....how about a Dr Pepper, or a Grape soda once in a whie !

It's very sad to see them become so one dimensional....back in the golden years there were Colas, Root Beers, Mountain Dew and even the occasional Budweiser ! .....then in the early 80's, things seemed to lose their fizz...it was as though everything had to be done Cokes way, or the highway, and we all know how that turned out...much of the fanbase just didnt like the "New Coke" and frankly, went on to drink the new sports drinks and leave the old sodas behind.

Then, when they finally got back to the studio, all that came of it out was like...........Decafinated or something ! The Cola nut was doing it's own thing while the Sugar and Fizz were working together 2,000 miles away...it just wasnt like the cohesive sodas were all were craving. and these days, it's all lemon, and lime.....no cola nut, no artificial color.........very transparent..... :(

Actually, I homebrew my own soda now. It's a lot cheaper and it tastes better, IMO. I've done: root beer, cream soda, cherry, and I have some raspberry carbonating now. Yum.
