STYX song memory.........

Postby SuiteMadameBlue » Wed Nov 16, 2005 5:26 am

I was driving in my soccer mom van (LOL) and I was listening to the song "Lady" . When I hear that song I think back to 7th grade when that song was used for one of our pom-pon routines. So I heard that song nightly and weekly to practice for that routine.

Also when I hear "Lady" live, I always think about how I cry (and cry and cry) at the concerts when Dennis performs it (LOL). I just can't help it.

Let's see, other song memories when I hear the songs now:

"Renegade"oh I remember when I first heard it. It was like my favorite song at that time. My friend and I used to sing into our tape recorders to this song. I just found those old cassette tapes and I might have my kids hear them -LOL

"Babe" , when I hear this one now I think back to a dance when this was playing

Of course I have a ton more. I'll have to put some tunes in and continue

Yes, I did forget (like I usual forget about everything) and I'm sorry to hear that you're from Minnesota. (LOL) I hope you're not going on any boat tour soon, unless you want to go ice fishing. It's freezing cold here now, brrrrrrrrr. We're suppose to have snow tonight.

ViQueens are still going down (I hope so) LOL

Enjoy. Though I think "arctic" temps would stop me...until say...late spring.

Herself enjoying a brisk 40 degrees with a strong chance of snow tonight....

The tour I am going on is being arranged by Minnesota Vikings Travel. Ex Viking Quarterback Tommy Kramer runs the outfit. I got the TOTAL perks package.

I wonder what the perks are?????????????

I remember a band doing Why Me at a school dance. Played it the other day as I sat in commuter traffic down here in the New Orleans post Katrina daze, it takes at least twice as long to get anywhere these days, so I just turned up cornerstone and that song came on and I just had to laugh. You're really not alone you know, cuz everybody says why me why me...why me thats what I want to know you know what I mean, ha I don't know...

A ninth grade church retreat out of town. All day we had classes and speakers and seminars and such and then that night they had a dinner and little dance for us. Sometime during the night they played Desert Moon. It was the first time I'd heard it and I fell in love with it instantly. I can't even remember if I danced to that song with anybody, but everytime I hear it that's what I think of and everytime I hear DDY play it in concert I just close my eyes and I'm back in that dance hall.

Hearing "Lady" for the first time on the radio. It is the song that brought me to Styx in general and DDY in particular. I had never heard a voice like that. Or harmonies that amazing. I was an instant fan of Styx and stayed such until the guy that sang that song was no longer in the band.

Bugsy
Change your hairdo. Change your name.
Congratulations! You're still the same.

"Paradise" when I hear that song now, I think about cruisin' in a boat on a gorgeous lake on a hot summer night this past summer.

"Too Much Time on My Hands" - LOL, I heard that on the radio this past Friday night and I thought of the message board. I was telling my friend the amount of time that I come on here

"You Need Love" - This is my very first STYX song that I ever heard. I must've been 6 going on 7 years old. This song brings me back in time to the railroad convention when I first heard it up in Northern Wisconsin. I'll never forget hearing this song and I begged the dj to play it again & again & again (LOL) He got sick of me so he just gave me my very first 45rpm record, which I still have :D
