Tommy Shaw- solo albums. Girls With Guns and What If

I've seen these two CDs drawing huge bids on e-bay.
I owned both of these on cassette back in the eighties.
Can anyone explain the reason that these are so hard to find?

If they're in demand, why aren't they being rereleased by A&M?

they regularly go for about $40. They've been out of print for a long time. The reality is there probably isn't a big market for them, it just looks like it.

This is the type of stuff that I expected I tunes would have gotten into. Release out of print music that record companies have no intention of ever releasing again.

Maybe there is not enough demand for another pressing. Therefore somebody think they can make a bundle on e-bay.But if you go to your secondhand cd shop you may find it for $10.I stumble across these every now and again .
Good luck.

I thought some label DID rerelease two of the three "old" solo albums, back around the time 7DZ was released.

You may want to go the Absolute Records route.

Well over 5 or 6 years ago I contacted them and purchased 2 copies of each Girls with Guns and What If for like $12.99 a piece.

A year or so after that I got three copies of a JY release titled 'JY The Big Tall Guy from Styx. It was a promo CD that JY had made to send out to radio stations. Its like a JY greatest hits collection Styx & solo. It also contains some JY promo clips when he was touring the bar scene with the JY group. I think I payed around $14.99 each for those.

P.S. I did the same thing with Glen's releases. I dont even remember how, but I got on the net, next thing I knew I was talking to some guy who was some sort of friend or manager of Glens. I got every one of his releases from this guy Heros & Zeros, Slaves Of New Brunswick, etc. Got em all for around $12.99 a piece. Best money ever spent!!!
