LETS BE FAIR

Since Dennis broke out the Lost Treasures shows, many people here are ripping Styx for not mixing up their set list more.

I have seen them close to 10 times since they put Dennis on the sidelines back in '99'. I have not seen their Big Bang tour, but I have seen the other tours numerous times.

Lets look at the different songs they have played since 1999:

Witness
Brave New World
Number One
Heavy Water
Everything Is Cool
Best Of Times
High Enough(edit)
Rockin The Paradise
Lights
Boat On The River
Queen Of Spades
Lady
The Grand Illusion
Suite Madame Blue
Lorelei
Crystal Ball
Sing For The Day(edit)
Sometimes Love Aint Enough(edit)
Love Is the Ritual
Edge Of the Century
Waiting For Our Time
One With Everything
Kiss Your Ass Goodbye
These Are The Times
Fields Of the Brave
More Love For The Money
Find The Cost Of Freedom
Cant Find My Way Home
Walrus
Criminal Mind
No Way Out
Borrowed Time
Man In The Wilderness
Too Much Time On My Hands
Snowblind
Blue Collar Man
Renegade
Miss America
Fooling Yourself
Come Sail Away
Todds Cyclomedley & a few covers( Sweet Home Alabama )

I may be forgetting a few songs. It is a pretty good mix if you ask me!!,

Well if we're being fair then it's important to note that there have been two new albums done (3 if you count Brave New World) since then and a lot of this material is from those albums which tends to artificially make it look like they're playing a bunch of songs people have been wanting to hear.

I don't think anyone is "ripping" them... just pointing out the irony. They complain about the old leader because he was too stodgy and didn't mix it up... and then when they get the chance to do it themselves they do it the same way.

Or maybe it's because they're not still playing the 1997 set list and that absolves them from critisism. That must be it.

Believe it or not, I'm not ripping them this time. I've seen them 3 times and it's been pretty much the same set list, oops make that 4 in the last 3 years.

The current line up played "Borrowed Time" in concert, when???

That was their opening song when they toured with Bad Company. Tommy sang lead.

They played Lights back in 1999/2000 when they first went out without Dennis and were doing the 2.5 hour set.

They started the concert with "Lights" when they toured with Billy Squire and Bad Company.

Maybe that's when they used to change the set lists up a bit.

I saw them with BadCo and Squire and they opened with Borrowed Time. Tommy sang one verse and JY the other. Instead of the guitar solo, they had a mini-medley (RTP, POE, Roboto and one other) in the middle of the song.

ek88,
You are 100% correct that was the orginal start of the medley.

When I saw Styx last year in Tacoma, WA they played "I Don't Need No Doctor." Sounded great live.
