Shaw/Blades songs on MySpace

Postby Monker » Fri Oct 27, 2006 10:54 am

The Influence MySpace page has a couple of the new Shaw/Blades songs up..."Your Move" and "California Dreamin'"

Just thought I'd throw that out for the piranha's here.

They don't seem to want to play for me though. Either froy already got to them, or it is those Borg Hackers again.

I was able to get them to play, but they are only samples. Not the entire songs. At least what I was able to get to play were short samples.

I am interested in this album, but I was unimpressed with the two samples. TS and JB sound very, very good, but they also sound exactly like the originals. And how in the world can anyone top the Mama's and Papa's "California Dreamin' "?

Thanks, Monker, for providing the link for these.

Not my favorite songs, but CD sounds like Tommy put more effort into that than the stuff on BBT.

Funny thing about "Your Move" is that whenever I hear the first part of "Mister Please" I've always thought of the Yes harmonies.

What is amazing is Tommy can still sing those notes that Jon Anderson did, how long ago? 20-35yrs ago? Very, very impressive.

But, then again, you have been singing the same old tune for going on ten years. So, it shouldn't be that suprising.

Ii have heard Dennis do Bon Scott, Axl Rose, Paul McCartney and Robert Plant and he has been dead on perfect on all of them. High notes and all.

You are tripping over your biases again, Chicago.

And BTW, Tommy did sound great on "Your Move", high notes and all. It just that the song was not reworked but an exact imitation of the original. Why not just listen to the original?

Chicago, you must be joking, Dennis doing "Whole Lotta Love" was awesome and dead-on :P
