Styxfest Pre-Registration Announcement!

Styxfest will be held on May 24–26 at Casino Rama in Rama, Ontario, Canada.

PAYMENT INFORMATION

Total cost of the event is $219, which must be paid in full at the time of registration. Paypal is preferred.

If you are planning to bring children, please note that Casino Rama does not allow children younger than 19 years into the concerts or the casino itself (they are allowed to walk through the casino to get to the Styxfest ballroom). Children 5 and younger are free at Styxfest.

All prices are in U.S. dollars.

WHEN REGISTRATION WILL OPEN

Registration will open at 10 a.m. Pacific Time (1 p.m. Eastern Time) on Tuesday, March 13.

Early registration also gives you a $25 discount! Starting April 13, the cost will go up by $25 to $244.

Registration will close at midnight on Tuesday, May 1.

HOW TO REGISTER

To register, go to www.styxfest.com and click on Register.

You will be asked to provide, among other things, your postal mailing address, home phone number, and cell phone number. None of this information will be shared outside of the Styxfest staff. If you would like to be included in the yearbook, you will be asked some additional questions.

You may register for more than one person. Please note that you will be required to provide all the required information for the additional people. You need make only one payment for your entire party.

There will be a direct link from the registration page to Paypal. You must click on that link and pay in order for your registration to be accepted and processed. The Paypal account will accept funds transfers from checking accounts and credit card accounts.

WHAT STYXFEST WILL INCLUDE (IN OTHER WORDS, WHAT’S IN IT FOR ME?)

* Each attendee will receive a goody bag of swag, including a commemorative t-shirt, a canvas tote bag, a promo photo, a yearbook, buttons, tickets for a prize drawing, temporary tattoos, and more. KC, that adorable guy you buy shirts and stuff from at every Styx concert, is doing all of our swag, so you know it’ll be great!

* Scheduled activities will include special guest speakers. Charlie Brusco, Styx’s manager, is confirmed, as is a panel of crew members. We’re working on arranging more!

* We will be hosting an exclusive book signing! Chuck Panozzo has agreed to sign his new book, The Grand Illusion: Love, Lies, and My Life With Styx, at Styxfest. Books will be available for purchase through Styxfest before the event.

* We will have another memorabilia-packed auction, including at least one guitar signed by and donated by the band. Last time, we had a slew of items—stage clothing, etc.—signed by the band, and we expect this year to be no different. This year’s auction will raise money for the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation, the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Research, and others. (In 2004 we raised $6,000 for charity, so save up your money for this auction!)

* Each person's registration number will be put into a drawing for prizes, some of which will be awarded in advance of Styxfest. Prizes will include memorabilia and more.

* A lavish brunch on Friday, a “bannock break” (bannock is a Scottish pan-fried bread) and lunch on Saturday, and a mind-blowing “chocolate break” on Saturday.

* Attendees will get a discount at the Day’s Inn (across the street from Casino Rama) if they choose to stay there. (Note: Attendees will be responsible for their own hotel reservations and payments. Other than providing a discount number for you to use when you make your reservation, Styxfest will not be handling accommodations.)
* A casual buffet of hot sandwiches, sodas/water, and crudités will be available on Thursday afternoon/early evening.

* On Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings, a cash bar will be available.

* More guest speakers and activities will be announced as we finalize them. Please understand that we have a great deal in the works—many potential exciting and fun things!—but we can’t advertise them until we have all the information from the various people we are coordinating with.

* There will be an aftershow party at the Day’s Inn meeting room on Friday and Saturday nights. More info to come.
