Does anyone know why in almost every book on the history of rock Styx is not mentioned while many one hit wonders and obscure bands are.
Looking back at a life
Filled with warm embraces
No regrets only memories
Of smiling faces

Because when Styx was in their heyday almost all the "mainstream" magazines like Billboard, Rolling Stone and Spin absolutely despised them and their music.

And guess who puts out a lot of those "best bands of the 70's" books.. Or people who use to work for those rags.

Who honestly cares though?

What Jodes said.

Styx didn't get respect. Doesn't get respect. And likely they will not get respect in the future.

So you will have the celebration of craptastic bands and craptastic music in books and retrospectives because for some reason, they were "respected."

You said it, Jodes. Who honestly cares?
