GLEN BURTNIK'S FIRST ANNUAL HALLOWEEN XTRAVAGANZA TO DEBUT IN ASBURY PARK:
Press Release / Asbury Park, NJ (September 10, 2008) – Following in the footsteps of his successful long running Xmas Xtravaganza, Glen Burtnik is proud to announce that he will be presenting a musical celebration of Halloween on Saturday November 1 at Asbury Lanes, the bowling alley / rock 'n' roll venue located in Asbury Park, New Jersey. Tickets go on sale Friday, September 19.
Using his Christmas show as a model, the Halloween Xtravaganza will make it's debut at the Asbury Park rock club in what Burtnik hopes will become an exciting annual event. “Halloween is a blast,” says Burtnik. “Everyone loves it, and we've done so well with our annual Christmas show, I thought another holiday would be fun to celebrate.”
Originating at The Stone Pony night club in Asbury Park in 1989, Glen Burtnik's Xmas Xtravaganza has grown and moved on to increasingly larger venues, with various superstars and newcomer talents performing to raise money for multiple charities. Now, almost 20 years later, Glen Burtnik's Halloween Xtravaganza is born in that very same town. Why Asbury Lanes? “Asbury Lanes is the greatest venue on earth,” says Burtnik. “The decor is amazing, the bar is the hippest, and going bowling in a nightclub is just plain surreal. Where else can you party with friends, participate in a sport, and attend a concert all at the same time?”
In keeping with the tradition of not releasing too many details about the show in advance (so as not to spoil the surprise), Burtnik is being tight-lipped about the performers and the set list, but he did offer the following: “It should prove to be an unforgettable night of rock 'n' roll's sinister and playful music -- there is so much to draw from. Dead Elvi, Don Dazzo, Faith Hahn, Tony Shanahan, and other friendly ghosts will be there, and EVERYONE will be dressing up.”
The audience is encouraged to attend in costume and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to The Boys & Girls Club of Monmouth County.
