agree with you there. as much as i love the god father of styx if he can't grow up then maybe he should be replaced. maybe by jimmy? i think he and tommy would instantly click. tommy d blows imo. let the bashing begin.KWH17 wrote:From what I've seen they started to dip out slowly after Cyclorama, but just this year started to pick themselves up again. I believe that this is going to be the "big boost" to get them back in the game. Their music is being given bigger presence this year, and their joint tour is being sponsored by none other than Rock Band, which has quickly usurped Guitar Hero as the premier music based game. As I've said, if all this exposure was followed by a new album, and given that they were able to properly promote a single from that album, then they would be where they were between BNW and Cyclo. As an aside, I think if they were to last 10 more years, thats plenty of time for a full reunion.I know, I know, the dead horse, but from what I've gathered in interviews from DDY and TS, the hostility between them isn't there anymore, and the only one who would [obviously] be against it would be JY.

they don't like each other.
Styx want to rock and Dennis doesn't. He does what he wants and they do what they want. that's it.
Dennis has no stage energy. Styx rock the house. he doesn't.
that's the deal.

Okay you listen up punk
STYX is out to get paid and they will sing the same damn songs for the next 10 years if fools like you are dumb enough to
pay them,
Dennis 's new cd blows anything Gowan and Shaw and Jimmy have ever done.
They are a spinal tap act singing the road is long and we will be strong.
Plain and simple they suck without a major songwritter and both Glen and Dennis are gone.
STYX needs them both and to bad they can beg to get them back.
The STYX legacy is destroyed plain and simple
i think we all know the answer to that question.foolintherain wrote:you haven't seen Styx in the last 10 years have you?froy wrote:Okay you listen up punk STYX is out to get paid and they will sing the same damn songs for the next 10 years if fools like you are dumb enough to pay them, Dennis 's new cd blows anything Gowan and Shaw and Jimmy have ever done. B.B King had his farewell tour in 2006 at age 80. Could Styx make it to a similar milestone ?
Do any of you prognosticators care to make a guess regarding the year of the Styx farewell tour ? Will it be triggered by economics ? lack of passion/interest by the players ? or will it take the passing of Shaw or Young to bring "the end" ?
Discuss amongst yourselves.......

(((gawd))) This one degenerated so quickly. Anyway, classic, I don't think ANY performer/musician who has this in his/her blood can ever stop performing. As long as they can do it, and someone will come see them, they will get up on that stage. Hell, Etta James, seventy-something, performs in her wheelchair. I have a feeling Jagger and the has-to-be-already-dead-and-now-a-zombie, Keith Richards will perform with their walkers right beside them. Ditto a plethora of other aging rockers.
To many of these performers, performing is who they are. And they cannot stop being who they are.

Not by much mind you, but because of clunkers like Respect Me and Forgiveness and the shmaltz of I Believe in You, I have to go with 7DZ..
BUT I still have yet to hear the "new" 100 Years with the two new tracks and from the sounds of it remixes of many of the songs.

I just read it in the last few months. He said something to the effect of it would be nice to get the band together again before anyone else dies. I'll try somewhere to find the link.
