Hmmm. I know at least 3 million people who think Paradise Theater is better than Cyclo..........I wouldn't be surprised if Paradise Theater has sold 4 million copies by now.
Cyclo is a good album, but it's not as good a Paradise Theater. Come ON!!!

Cyclo is on par with paradise theater

Postby cittadeeno23 » Tue Jun 08, 2010 10:06 am

Gonna have to say no. Besides the fact PT outsold Cyclo by almost 4 million units, listen to the vocals on PT. Really listen to the harmonies. On virtually every single song.
Unmatched. Even though Grand Illusion is the best Styx album, PT may be the best Vocal job they ever did. It's amazing.

Styx is known for the incredible harmonies. PT was basically them showing off. And it was amazing.

Ask the band if sales mean anything. I'm pretty sure JY would disagree with you.
It's impossible to compare the two albums. They are 2 different animals. But the harmonies on PT sound like STYX. Can't say the same for Cyclo.
But if you love Cyclo, good for you. I do too. One with Everything is a killer tune.

But They are 2 different bands to me. They don't sound like Styx without Dennis. They sound like the Tommy Shaw band. Good, but not Styx.

I would bet that he would something like, "Of course how well a Styx album sells matters to me because I have a financial stake in it. However, generally speaking, how well any particular album sells does not speak to the quality of the album. Many 'bad' albums sells incredibly well, and many excellent albums sell poorly."

Paradise Theater is sorely in need of a new audit. It has not been certified since 1984 at 3X Platinum...

It's probably close to 4 mil by now. I bet GI is at 4 mil also.

I pulled out PT about a week ago after not hearing it for several years. The vocals are just blowing me away all over again. I really had forgotten how good it was. I cannot stop listening to Snowblind and Half Penny two Penny. That album came out my Junior year in High school and it's virtually all we listened to for 2 years.
