I wouldn't be surprised if Gowan elected to move on in the next year or two. He could write a new solo album, doing everything his way, and make a killing in Canada. While the guys in Styx suppress his creative drive and keep him singing the same four songs night after night (the GI/Po8 tour being the first big change in nearly 12 years). I can't help but wonder if that's why Glen Burtnik jumped ship so quickly; he was playing songs that he had nothing to do with and barely had a creative outlet.
"It's really important if you're going to remain a valid band that you play your new stuff. Otherwise you become a parody of what you started out doing." - Janick Gers of Iron Maiden

In regards to Glen I think he found out very quickly that if it wasn't something that either JY or Tommy came up with the chances of the band doing something with it would be slim to none. He understood that the current Styx is all about TS and JY instead of DDY as some people tend to believe. As far as Gowan, I wonder how long he will be interested in playing someone else's material night after night with no potential of his own input.
