They forgot to add Kansas

Take both Kansas and Foreigner away and they don't even show up on that list

Really Kansas was not on the bill like it was advertised or is this going to make STYX look even more ridiculous,

173 thousand fans between 3 bands for what 50 shows that's about 1000 fans per band
Great job fellas.

Pretty good considering they don't have Dennis and do not release new music.

Actually, I think that's the average number of dollars per night. Which is not bad.

Hmmm, right. Interesting. It's hard to fathom that acts like Tom Petty and Elton John did less business than Foreigner and Styx, but then again I suppose they played fewer shows overall. And how in the world did A-ha sell so many tickets? That's just bizarre. I'm surprised Falco's not on there.

Where is Shinedown? #1 Album, 5 #1 hits off that album , they have been touring for well over a year backing their #1 'Sound Of Madness' album and as hard a ticket to get as there is.

FYI:

KISS earns a minimum of $500,000 per concert, placing the legendary rock band near the top of the summertime tour earnings list, according to contract records that have been acquired by The Smoking Gun web site.

Some of the rock acts featured on the list:

#2: KISS - $500,000
#15: BUCKCHERRY - $100,000
#17: HEART - $100,000
#19: SHINEDOWN - $85,000
#20: REO SPEEDWAGON - $75,000
#26: BRET MICHAELS - $64,000
#33: WARRANT - $12,000
#61: Styx - $1,500

PS I dummied in the Styx numbers. They may be more or less. Who knows.

They're opening for Nickelback, who had earned $30 million at the halfway point of this year.

Here's the information, I didn't know it was that long ago.....

Falco died of severe injuries received from a collision with a bus in his Mitsubishi Montero near the city of Puerto Plata, in the Dominican Republic on 6 February 1998, just two weeks before his 41st birthday. It was initially reported that the autopsy showed high blood levels of alcohol and cocaine, however this was later dismissed. At the time of his death, he was planning a comeback. He was buried in the Zentralfriedhof (Central Cemetery) in Vienna, Austria

Wow, that poor bastard. HATED the music, but still, being a terrible musician doesn't mean you should die like that. If it did, then Nelson would be on life support right now, LOL.

It's funny. I do a lot of contract work for various clients. And one of my client who is a tech director for a very large company you all would know took two weeks off work to travel to Europe to follow A-Ha around on what is supposedly their "farewell" tour.

I made the joke to my co-workers that both of A-Ha's fans would be disappointed at their farewell... but I guess they're big stuff in Europe.

Falco was a big star in Europe. Because he was very camera friendly in the looks department, his videos were popular here. I guess "Rock Me Amadeus" was his most famous.

"Vienna Calling" and his version of "Der Kommissar" were the ones I remember from the MTV days 8)

I quite like A-ha myself.I saw them on their 'farewell tour' here in Toronto.
There is a lot more to them than that one or two singles you may have heard in the eighties.
I think around 2000 they did a tour in South America where they drew 3 million people.
The biggest gig of those were at the Maracana soccer stadium in Brazil where they broke attendance record with 195000 fans.
Not too shabby if I may say so myself.

Wow, are you serious?! I honestly had no idea. The single thing I remember from that band is "Take On Me," and that song (along with its accompanying video) makes me want to jump off a building. I had absolutely no clue the band existed anymore, let alone that it was so huge still.

Here's some fond memories http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=djV11Xbc914&ob=av2n

Sorry, I should not mock poor dead Falco. He was a hero to millions. Just not me. To tell you the truth, since the Beastie Boys got nominated for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this year, along with Donovan and Chic and Donna Summer, I think Falco should get a nomination, too. Here's what he sounded like, I'll let you judge for yourself:

He was no singer, one couldn't understand a word he said and
if he ran like this >>>> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_w4Xulsjo5I
in real life, he would never have been on his feet!!

Decent dance beat ...anyone ever see him in concert?!?! :?

I did not even know of his demise ...and he was planning a comeback!!

I never saw him in person, but I'll always treasure my autographed vinyl copy of his classic double album 'Falco Comes Alive!'
