It's a freaking copycat singing it, Stand up for what's right and stop enabling these goofs.

i understand what you are saying and honestly I dont really disagree all that much...in fact, you and my brother have identical points of view on this whole thing......but for me, i have sadly accepted that for whatever reasons, right or wrong or who's to blame that they cannot get it worked out to work together again.

so with that said it means that I can either learn to accept both "lesser" versions of my all time favorite band.....the now "tommy and JY styx" or the "dennis trying to have his new band be exactly like vintage styx" solo act. both of them have their good points but I 100% think that they are less than their original "sum of parts".

so if I accept they aint gonna play together then I try to make the best of both acts "acting" like styx. i dont put too much emphasis on dennis writing the "majority" of the hits because songs like roboto, babe and dont let it end are some of my least favorites. when styx is clicking its songs like grand illusion, renegade, blue collar man, come sail away, castle walls, fooling yourself.

when you listen to all of the solo albums by all of the previous players it is obvious that "STYX" together made the songs great on all of the old albums......because each of their solo albums lacks a great deal in true comparison whith what made me love styx.

to me this situation is like watching your parents get divorced.....regardless of who's to blame you try to find a way to keep loving both of them and that's what I do. YES, i would love for them to be together again....but as long as they are not I dont plan to boycott one or the other....i like the songs too much.

That is very nicely put.
But unfortunately for the froys and tophers here, that does not work.
Only that Styx can do right and Dennis can do no wrong.

Sorry about your parents.
Jesus loves you ,but everybody else thinks you're a knob.

let me clarify....when i say it's like watching your parents get divorced and you find a way to keep loving them both....i was using that as analogy with styx and dennis......"I'm gonna keep loving the both of them". my parents are not divorced...in fact, just celebrated their 50th anniversary.

but as a former child counselor i understand divorce and have worked with hundreds of kids that face that tough question of "which one do i keep loving". obviously, a real divorce is brutal and more serious a situation than a rock band breakup but the analogy works. from a music standpoint the thing with styx and dennis is a "musical divorce" and as fans we are their "children". and it's caused hurt, finger pointing and sides to be taken and in the end everyone loses.....but life goes on and you try to make the best of it....that's why i try to accept it.

Truthfully who honestly gives a 'real' shi t. This 'divorce' happened over 10 years ago.

It would be great if they somehow got back together, but if not who REALLY cares???
