After reading your suggestions to look up Aspergers, dyspraxia, and ASD, I looked into them a little. JJ certainly seems to exhibit at least some of these symptoms, so I feel like I at least have a direction to go with it. I will definitely mention these at her next appointment. It seems that Autism, if caught by age 18 months (just missed it, dang it) can be "reversed" by re-wiring the brain. Perhaps that because she's only 2, it won't be as treacherous as I thought. Fingers crossed.

But thanks for the suggestions, both of you.

Zan,
In addition to talking to your doctor, you can do some of your own research into alternative and Homopathic medicine which your doctor will not be trained in.
Also, you may want to look into probiotics. They do wonders. Especially if you get the right kind at high dosages.
I hope everything is OK with your little girl.

Did your daughter have those shots? They are blamed for allot of these conditions . My son has an extra Y chromosome so he has speech issues, My girlfriends son has dyspraxia and my best friends son is 100 percent autistic. I feel for ya Zan its a tough one to watch your child grow up delayed,

I hope all goes well when you see the doctor. The only advice I can give you is to be proactive in everything you do concerning your daughter and the medical attention that she receives.

Our godson will travel to Dallas or Waco in two weeks.

She's not seeing her doctor next week. She's being evaluated by the County for her communication development. We initially made the appointment because she was slow to talk (ie: isn't), and she's already had her initial in-home visit by one of the representatives who observed her and asked us lots of questions. Looking back, her questions did seem very pointed in the "ASD" direction. Since then, I've been watching her more closely (now that I know what to look for) and am getting ready for next week's appointment at the downtown facility. Since I have read a little bit about ASD/autism symptoms, I'm fairly sure I can get a quicker assessment when we see the professionals. I just hope that we will be able to get her on the right track before she starts school in 3 years.

When I found out my first child was extremely far-sighted and would have to wear glasses at the age of 2, I was devastated. It's hard enough to grow up in schools without having some actual issue for the plebs to make fun of. Luckily for us, she adjusted very well, and never really let that stuff get to her. Plus,he vision is 90% improved, and she only has to wear reading glasses "some" of the time now. No more regular wear. Here's hoping that JJ will be able to adjust as well.
