To be fair, Styx has played many of the same rib fests, too. An example:

Styx on their own plays the same size venues most of the time. As a package tour, no. Most bands of their ilk play 1500 - 2500 seaters ... or smaller.

Tell me how many tickets Styx sold last time they were within an hour drive of Des Moines, and then tell me how Dennis sold the last time he was here.

I am NOT making some national point...or comparing him to Styx. Again, I was told to go see Dennis. I can't exactly go see Dennis if he doesn't book shows here.

And, really, when did selling 1500 seats go from a froyline insult to being anything anyone would care to brag about?

Seeing that it's a big deal to you (and I really could care less), DDY and the current Styx prolly sell around the same by themselves

Not true in this area. Like I said, last time Dennis did a rib fest for free. Last time I saw Styx, a couple years ago was at an outside concert at a casino at $60/ticket...with around 5,000 other people.

So, no, it's not the same here. And, again, I'm not commenting nationaly...just localy.
