So Why Styx II & Serpent Back To Back?

I've always wondered why they released these two almost back to back. Were they
just fulfilling their contract with wooden nickel or did it just happen that way?
Sorry to bug you guys just a little bored here 8)

In those days it wasn't unusual for bands to record 2 albums a year.
An album would be about 30-40 minutes long.
They would make an album in a week to a month.
Tour that album for maybe 4 to six months and then back in the studio to record,
and then tour that album.
I think that was pretty much the norm then.
Jesus loves you ,but everybody else thinks you're a knob.

Very accurate statements by both you gentlemen. KISS also being one of my favorite bands released 2 studio albums in 1974, a studio album and double live album in 1975, two studio albums in 1976, a studio album and double live album in 1977 and in 1978 they released a double greatest hits album and four linked solo studio albums. Then they released a studio album per year from 1979 to 1985. Now that's the way I like it. I hate all this an album every 3 years or so... or for some bands... never. It sucks waiting. I wish I was born in the early sixties so I could've experienced it first hand.
