BNW backing vocals

Postby Toph » Fri Mar 22, 2013 7:47 am

Re listened to BNW for the first time in many years. It's still awful. But amazed at how little vocal collaboration there is in backing vocals. Another reason it sounds like solo albums. This is what I've ascertained on backing vocals for each song. Check me on this - am I right?

Witness - just tommy overdubbed
BNW - can't figure out if DDY is here or not
WTST - tommy is on there
Number 1 - DDY sings "something better" is that it though on this song?
Face - no DDY
WHTDTY -no DDY
Angel - no TS just DDY overdubbed
EIC - all are here
Great Expectstion - tommy on bridge
Heavy water - no DDY
High crimes - tommy on there and JY too
Just fell - just tommy
Roseland - just DDY
Reprise - all (parts)

Only 5 out of 14 have DDy and TS backing together.

add a lazy susan and yodeling, and BNW would have been a smash.

Let's not forget in our tireless need to slam the current incarnation of the band, that Dennis' vocals are only heard on Babe and Mr. Roboto. The others vocals aren't there.

BTW- great video of Babe here. Usually the quality is terrible on this one. This is the cleanest one I've seen:

Hmm, you know something we don't, Bry? Because to my knowledge the current incarnation of the band did not perform on Brave New World....
