Actually like the melody of She Cares

The music of She Cares is actually pretty upbeat and poppy. In the same vein as Sing for the Day and TS's Cornerstone Songs. The lyrics is where it goes off course. If it had lyrics that fit the concept, it would have fit in better.

YUP. It came on the other day and I'm thinking "this is a great melody"and the instrumentation is cool too. There's ONE line in the song that wrecks it for me. Had they tweaked it, it woulda been a good song. I can't believe they just didn't go "uh... I'm not liking that word in that line".

Same thing happened with McCartney's "Getting Closer". Great tune, but he used "my salamander" as an actual lyric.....WHAT???? Otherwise, I dig the song.

Sometimes you've got great melodies and a lyric just ruins the song. Happens to the best of 'em.
NO. He's NOT Steve F'ing Perry. But he's Arnel F'ing Pineda and I'm okay with that.

Would go so far as to say had lyrics been better, could have been a candidate as the third pop single.

I agree, there is nothing wrong with the melody. It's the lyric's that are the issue.

I've never had a problem with She Cares. Every track on Paradise is excellent. There are only 2 Styx song in the entire catalog that I dislike-- First Time and Eddie. I enjoy everything else that is why they are my favorite band hands down. Just really no bad songs except those 2.
