And on your second statement regarding Glen vs. Tommy. Tommy left voluntarily. Dennis didn't.

Both en have admitted to their faults. They are many people in this world that are control freaks. There are worse things to be. And many battle with addiction. It is not a weakness. It's a curse. Point is without both of them Styx wouldn't have grown into the arena headliner they did. But they may have been semi-successful even without Tommy. I mean look at Equinox, but I doubt they would have achieved nothing more than a couple of gold records mid level stardom. However the Styx camp (Tommy/ JY) to this day barely give Dennis any credit where he's due and seem to change history. At least DDY is generous with his praise. That much is true. Unfortunately it will never change here or there.

That's the point I think people need to realize. That they all are human beings and therefore have faults and quirks that led to instability in the band. No one is\was a innocent victim. I too feel that they don't or attempt to play down credit that DDY deserves. Some will say it 's because of terms in the lawsuit settlement or that they they are just trying to focus and promote the current incarnation of Styx. I am not so sure those are the main reasons.

If I have any real issues with current Styx is precisely that. Dennis doesn't get his due. It may not even be that, it's more crap like them spouting garbage about this being the best incarnation of the band. Please. And I bet Foreigner is in their best version as well. I only pulled them out because they've actually toured without one original member. Thought it was funny and ridiculous. I love Styx, I love Tommy. Hell, if he wasn't co condescending at times and always trying to have people believe what a scholar he is I'd have more nice comments about JY. I will say he's a good guitarist and was a pretty decent vocalist in Styx's heyday. He does bring plenty to the band. But nothing like Tommy and Dennis. To me without Dennis it's half assed and without Tommy and with Dennis the result is the same, half assed. The best incarnation is the classic one (75-84) of course followed by the 19995-99 one. I really would've liked to see the DDY/Tommy/JY/Glenn/Todd lineup do something when they had a chance. Pretty diverse and musically exciting. Styx would have never been anything without Dennis, nothing. Without Tommy they wouldn't have reached super stardom. Dennis got them off the ground and into orbit. Tommy got them to the moon. To me one of the greatest duos of all time without being an actual one. Listening to Styx right now in fact. Sing for the Day. The song, I'm not telling anyone to do that.
