This is available to buy tomorrow. It's available to listen to on Apple Music. Typical as always. Tommy is the bright spot.

Already on iTunes, I grabbed the only song I wanted, Light Up. It's better than I expected and a nice listen.

So I don't get it. A bit bad is O.K.?

The show on AXS TV had so much processing on the vocals that it turned me off to buying the album.
Granted, this is from Youtube, but man, it's so compressed, just takes any kind of 'fire' out of it.

They ran the Don Felder show just before it and the amount of autotune was just crazy. Coulda been recorded tracks too as things were just WAY too slick sounding.

NO. He's NOT Steve F'ing Perry. But he's Arnel F'ing Pineda and I'm okay with that.

I can't stand Felder's voice. Smart decision that Henley and Frey didn't use his vocals Victim of Love. My opinion of course, cringeworthy.

Wow, TS' vocals really sound hollow on this recording. What's with the hat on Gowan?

I was listening to this on Spotify. I skipped the YouTube's above.

To me, it sounds like the vocals in general are a bit too loud and upfront in the mix. I am also wondering if there were some issues with the accoustics in the venue, or the live mix at the concert. There are times when Tommy intentionally sings a lot louder and then softens back down...like he wasn't sure what the proper volume was to sing at. All said, it sounds more like a soundboard quality boot then a well mixed and produced live album.

The vocal on that clip just sounded weird to me. Not judging TS' performance, just the audio quality. Not that I would be buying this release but, if I was interested I would pass simply because of the audio quality. It has to be the worst sounding vocals I have heard on any Styx recording.

Slick is a good way to describe it. I do remember being a bit skeptical about the backing vocals, last summer.

Hell! Rumor is The Eagles, themselves, use backing tapes...which is absurd, given that they have 9 VOCALISTS on stage for much of the current tour!

It is not a bad release, I enjoy more that any of the other releases in the past 10 to 15 years. Really their best since DDY left. Does sound more relaxed and vocals a little more up front.

Exactly. It's just too sterile. Might as well be a studio recording. Shaw is a hell of a singer. The guy's voice has only gotten better, but when there's no "liveness" to a live recording. I'm in the minority. I really LIKE live albums when they're done right. I will probably pick it up but man, I miss the days of being excited about a new record. Cheap Trick, don't fail me now!

I miss the days of waiting for a new cd by a band you like, too. Far a few between now. I picked up a Cheap Trick release 1997, is that the one you are talking about?

No, they've had several since then and are working on a new album now.
Check out Special One, Rockford, and The Latest. All great albums. Rockford should've been huge. Love that one.
