I'm in central Ohio. There are four classic stations here. By far, the most played songs are Renegade, Too Much Time, Blue Collar Man, and Fooling Yourself. Less often heard is Come Sail Away. The only times I hear any of their other songs are when I listen to repeats of Casey Kasem's Top 40 80s countdowns on Sundays. What I find fascinating is that Tommy's songs seem to have had the most and longest staying power. For all the comments about how DDY wrote eight of their big singles, his songs are just not played any more. I have no memory of the last time I heard Babe, Don't Let it End, Mr Roboto, etc. Not trying to start a war here--this is pure observation from my local stations plus what I see of your stations.
Yogi--how amazing you hear Crystal Ball on the radio. I don't think I've ever heard it played, even in 1976.
Sometimes it makes no sense at all.
