What Makes Me Mad

Postby SuiteMadameBlue » Thu Mar 11, 2004 12:58 am

Wow, I hope I got your attention :)

I check out Ebay a LOT and enjoy looking (and bidding) on a few Styx items on there. This is what makes me mad, seeing old Styx albums & cd's signed by current Styx members that weren't even part of Styx back then. I personally don't think that's right. I feel this way for other bands too.

Do you guys (& gals) agree with me or not?

This isn't a discussion for flaming, just a discussion

Why would that make you mad? What do you think a never opened Grand Illusion Album autographed by Ted Williams and Mickey Mantle would sell for? The next time Pete Rose does an autograph show I am going to have him autograph an old Equinox album I own. Heres a good one, I am going to REALLY try this summer to get Gowan's autograph on my copy of 'A Love Foretold'. What really makes me mad is when someone takes a perfectly good red bike and paints it blue. How about you all????

Yoga, I KNEW you'd be the first to response :)

You sure like baseball too. If you get Pete Rose to sign your Equinox album, please take a picture, I have to see this - LOL I'd be curious to see what he has to say.

I'm sure Gowan wouldn't sign your "A Love Foretold" cd too, I'd put money on that one. Let me know what concert you'll be at this summer. I want to see you attempt this.

I SUPPOSE if your carrying around your old your Styx albums and you would run into someone else famous, like Pete Rose, and you have nothing else for him/them to sign, then I guess that would be okay but still silly.

I don't know why I'm going to try to explain this to you Yoga, but if you're at a Carrot Styx meet and greet that you know in advance that you were going to, wouldn't you have the new band members sign a new picture or their new cd? I read that Todd felt uncomfortable signing older albums that he wasn't part of. I don't feel like trying to find his quote on his site, but it should still be there.

You think Dennis would autograph Cyclorama? How about a Tommy autograph on an Edge of the Century CD? You may think I am crazy, but I bet Dennis autographing Cyclorama would fetch HUGE bucks on E-bay. How about that guy Brandle, whats his autograph worth. What was he to the band anyway. He's given writing credits to quite a few Wooden Nickle Styx 'classics'. Id like to get his autograph next to Pete's on my Equinox album.

I totally agree..It reminds me of a company here in Rockford called Amerock which is owned by Newell/Rubbermaid..Amerock got its name from America and Rockford..The company(Amerock) is moving its manufacturing operations to Mexico and guess what name is going on the building..Amerock...

And Pete Rose???
Would I want Pete Rose to sign my Styx album?? Not a chance..Maybee my baseball cap..Or one of his cards..I also noticed on Raw the other night that he is going to be in the Wrestling Hall of Fame( Yea, that makes sense)..
And as for Gowan signing A Love Foretold, I have to quote a famous cartoon character,"Good Grief"...

I got one for you, Maybee I can get the Reluctant Legend to sign my Desert Moon CD..That might be worth something, or how about Tommy Shaw to sign 10 from broadway, or Dennis to sign the Cyclorama CD...
Puhlease...

I'd be willing to bet that DDY would not sign a copy of Cyclorama.... but that is just my opinion.

I dont think he would either, but if he did what would it be worth??? I bet it would garner some pretty big bids. I bet a Mickey Mantle autographed Grand Illusion Record Album is worth MUCH more than a Mickey Mantle autographed baseball card! So who is Brandle??? Do any of you have his autograph???

Deejay.

I thought Pete Rose was going into the GAMBLING hall of fame!?

Having Pete sign a Styx album is like when the Simpsons' comic book guy was selling a picture of Sean Connery signed by Roger Moore.

As for the guys from Styx version syx signing old albums, I'm really surprised this is ever an issue. I mean think about it. That lame version with Dennis sold so few albums, while the BEST LINE-UP EVER has been selling left and right, what are the odds that any of those relics ever even surface.

Concerning Ray Brandle, I wouldn't be interested so much in his autograph, but on his insights of working with a legend in his own mind, James (JY) Young. That's a guy I want in my golf foursome!

Great posts, keep 'em coming,

Scott

Scott,

Pete Rose in the Gambling Hall of Fame?? I think he is already there along with Michael Jordan and some of the local area Ho-chunk casino members...

Good point about the simpsons comic guy..Or how about going to Burger King and you notice that your bag of food was signed by Ronald McDonald..

Now that's a Grand Illusion...

What makes me mad is all of these Journey[/u] MORONS coming over to the Styx board and acting like it's the place to protest the fact that they messed up their own board so badly that Andrew had to shut it down !

This board is OURS...if you want to talk about a REAL Classic Rock and Roll Band and not more Journey drivel, you are welcome here.........if you dont have naything to add to our discussions, GET LOST ! ( or is that GET BENT....???? )

You get the idea....BUH BYE !
