5.1 Cyclorama

Postby kansas666 » Tue Jun 01, 2004 11:05 pm

Does anyone know anything about the DVD Audio release of Cyclorama? I thought it was supposed to be today. But I can't find anything on the web.

I will post a review as soon as I get it.

Well I checked at 2 Best Buys, Barnes and Noble, Borders and a local CD shop. None of them had it. It isn't listed on Amazon yet either. I finally was able to order it from Circuit City for $14.00.

Does anyone else have it yet?

It came in the mail today.

WOW!

If there ever was a STYX album that deserved the 5.1 treatment - this is it!

Can you say BIG CHORUS??!!

Hilites: Palm Of Your Hand - the sound is everywhere and Captain America - This seemed like a pretty one dimensional song in 2 channels. But in 5.1 it becomes a guitar tour de force.

They didn't include the hidden tracks. Which is fine by me. They were interesting the first time. But I tend to skip them now.

There are videos included for Waiting For Our Time and Fields of the Brave. But they are nothing special, just some kaleidoscopic effects and panoramic scenes.

There is also a short bit with Tommy and Gary Loizzo talking about the mix. But once again - nothing special.

It's just great to hear this truly wonderful album completely surround you.
