Was he ever cool?

Depends upon your POV. A lot of us think he was, and still is.

Cool is relative. To each his own. And smoking dope, not relevant to being cool.

Are we all cool now? LOL

Peace,

Okay, time to start the flame wars up again

I only had the opportunity to see STYX once in their original incarnation back in 1977. The next time I saw them was the reunion in 1996. I enjoyed both shows. But the one thing that set me back was that Dennis came off as an egotistical dork.

I have seen the revised line-ups about 15 times now. Partly due to the fact that they play more shows, partly due to the internet providing up to date info on where they are, and partly due to the fact that the band put out a great album and is a much more rocking entity.

I like my music rockin! The thought of seeing Dennis with Air Supply and an orchestra just doesn't trip my trigger. I'm not ready for a wheel chair and Depends yet.

Then don't go . Pretty simple. To each his own. You view him one, others view him differently. No flame wars. Time to move on from this.

We can all say why enjoy the different acts or why we oppose them. I say, just go see who you like and be happy.

Ive seen all the 'different' renditions of Styx. The Edge tour minus Tommy was one AWESOME show. The best concert I think I will EVER see was Styx back in 1999 at the Far West Rodeo that show was minus Dennis. I loved the Kilroy & Paradise shows. I saw both Main Event tours, GREAT on both ends!! Styx live does NOT dissapoint. Their vocals and showmanship are just TOOOOO damn strong. As for Dennis........
I saw his solo show, with orchestra about two years ago in Houston. It was AWESOME, and ROCKED!!!!! You got the slower songs, but you also got Suite Madame Blue, The Grand Illusion, Rockin The Paradise etc.. Dennis like the rest of Styx is a showman, he may do it differently, and talk way too much ala Kevin Cronin but his show does NOT suck, he has ALWAYS delivered!!!!
