Although I feel much the same way about JY, Froy, this is a STYX group and I think there are a lot of people interested in reading all sides to the story, as hard as some of it is to take for some of us.

I appreciate Suite, and others, bringing these articles and links to the table for discussion.

We can then form our own opinions and air them, if we so wish, here.

I always like to hear what all sides have to say -- negative or positive or in-between.

You both are right, but I choose not to read or listen to anything he has to say because his side of the story is BS and evil.
When I see anything about JY posted here, I just pass it by.
It's not done for Dennis and Tommy..........

Yikes people!! A couple people got "bent" on here when I just post Dennis stuff, then I try to post the Carrot Styx crap and people get all worked up. Next time I'll just private message back to those that asked me - Sheesh. I wrote in the topic that it was a JY article, if you don't want to read the same crap that JY says, than don't read the posting. Simple as that!! I'm replying on here from comments on this "thread" and from the one that I posted the article.

Otherwise, I hope everyone has a great day!!

I appreciate the info you give us about dennis.

I just think that it is silly to get as worked up over things as some do in here.

Thanks StyxFanNH  I know there are a lot of Dennis fans and if I find anything out I like to pass it along. I know he's having more radio, on-line and hopefully magazine interviews. I'm hoping to find out more details.

I just think that it is silly to get as worked up over things as some do in here.

Yes it's silly, I actually had to edit my original post, the first one was pretty nasty - LOL I'm not really a nasty person :?

Keep bringing it. This is a STYX site. JY is in Styx, and he has the TOTAL right to speak his mind. Some may not like it, but it is his right. Dennis has the TOTAL right to speak his as does Tommy etc.

So where is that tell all Styx book we were promised?

Finally, on Classic rock 93.7 The Arrow in Houston DDY was all over the news part yesterday. The news comes on every hour. He was on all the morning segments. It seems in his upcoming movie he will be the first guy ever to play himself in a fake band that really isnt him, even though it is???????????????????? Did you catch that??????? Pretty confusing, but damn funny!!!

Okie Dokie, if Yogi says keep bringing all the info, than I will :) I personally like reading all the articles to see what's going on.

As for the book "The Grand Delusion". From reading past posts on other sites, it was suppose to be released over a year ago, then this past Spring and then on his website it said this Fall. The author's website is gone, I'm not sure for how long or why, but it's not there. So that information I have no clue on.

I can't wait for that movie to be released. According to the IMDB, the release date is August 12, 2005. I heard at the screening last month that it was great to see Dennis and the reaction of the character (Mike O'Malley) looking at him was priceless. So far, there will be 4 Classic Styx songs throughout the movie, if they're not cut.

As I responded earlier, and as did others, please keep posting whatever you find Suite, or anyone. It is always interesting reading any interviews, news items, etc. on the band and its current and former members.

I agree about the movie as well. Looking forward to it. It will be great exposure for the music and the scene sounds hilarious.

And speaking of exposure (on this thread weaves, LOL!). They have now played the Happy Cows "Lady" ad on twice on the most watched night of television -- on Surivor last week and on CSI this week. Talk about a lot of people hearing your song!

My guess is that JY will soon be thanking people for that ad and the exposure "their" music got on it as well.

Like the VW ad it is quite clever and uses the song perfectly in the context.

I'm just a little sensitive and crabby today, ate a little too much chocolate. I was just reading through the posts and maybe read one or two the wrong way :P

Bugsy, I LOVE the Happy Cows commercial. I wish it was still on the California Cheese site!!

I'm sure JY will start thanking the California Cheese too - LOL

I hope everyone has a GREAT weekend :)

What did you expect to happen? Like you said in your post, you cut and pasted it bits in other posts. Did you expect everybody to suddenly change their mind about JY's words the second go around?

YOU are the one who reacted with your "YIKES!" post...as if you were 'suprised' by the reaction. Why did you get all suprised that the same thing happened a SECOND time? Perhaps you just like to spread the controversy.

I don't post here because it's really not worth it. It's threads like this one that prove it to me.

Whatever Monker. I like to have fun on this board, you need to lighten up a little bit instead of being so serious all the time. So I said "Yikes", big deal. No I'm not surprised. I see your posts on the Journey site and I also have seen your website.

If you don't like it then don't read the posts and reply, simple as that. No one's making you come here, sheesh.

Yeah, like I'm the only one on here - LOL Whatever. You should talk, like I said, I've seen you your past posts on here and on Journey.

So I said "Yikes", big deal. No I'm not surprised. I see your posts on the Journey site and I also have seen your website.

Your reaction had NOTHING to do with me. I have NOT replied to those threads, and I doubt I ever will. It's senseless babble. To make sense of it, you'd have to stick a fish in your ear.

If you don't like it then don't read the posts and reply, simple as that. No one's making you come here, sheesh.

I never said anybody was 'making me' do anything. All I said is that I don't see a reason to be involved in this forum. It's just the same constant argument all the time. There is enough of that for me on Journey forums. Why should I be involved in the EXACT same conversations about Styx that I am about Journey? It's the same argument, the same counter argument, and nobody wins. It's becomes a bit repetitive.

I simply asked why you were so suprised that people reacted exactly the same way as they did the first time you posted the article. I think you KNEW they would. I think you WANTED them to. I think you LIKE it when the focus is on Styx in a negative way. Why do you pretend that you are posting such things as a benefit to Styx fans when all you are really doing is purposely adding fuel to the DeYoung fans fire?

Yeah, like I'm the only one on here - LOL Whatever. You should talk, like I said, I've seen you your past posts on here and on Journey.

Then you know that I don't care what people think of me. You know that I am not one to pull punches when I think something is wrong. You know that I don't think DeYoung fans are NEARLY as over zealous as Perry fans. You know that I believe that Styx is going to do what Styx wants to do and there is NOTHING that DeYoung fans can do about it, except not buy a concert ticket or new album. The constant venting and whining about the situation is a bit old, very old.

And, since you say you read my website, this is what I said almost two years ago, and it is still true today:

The bottom line in all of this is that these bands would not be able to continue on if there were not people willing to spend money on them by buying new CD's and concert tickets. If they were not profitable, labels would not release the CD's and they would not be able to book a tour. Sure, there may be fans that do not like the current state of how these bands exist, because of the lineup changes or whatever...But, there are fans who still like these bands even given the lineup changes. The constant whining about the changes are not going to change anything. If a person doesn't like it, they do not have to buy the CD or concert ticket. It's that simple.

Duh, I'm on Dennis' side, big deal. If I find Styx news, good or bad, I post it. If it's news to get some people going on here, I post it. If it's me babbling, I post it, whatever.

I think you LIKE it when the focus is on Styx in a negative way. Why do you pretend that you are posting such things as a benefit to Styx fans when all you are really doing is purposely adding fuel to the DeYoung fans fire?

Oooooh, you know what I like, I'm flattered  No need for me to pretend. I think most people that have been on this board for a while know that I'm a Dennis fan.

So what, there are Dennis fans, New Line-Up Styx fans, Classic Fans and fans on here that like the music of every line-up. Big deal. This is a forum and we can express the way we all feel, like it or not. I didn't care for some past comments a few months ago against Dennis. I just let it go and move on to another thread, no biggie.

If people weren't whining on here about any of the members this forum wouldn't be as fun :D

Yep, if people don't like the new line-up, then they don't have to buy a ticket or the new album.

Monker, have a great day and again, Lighten Up

So what, sometimes new people join the forum and they don't have time to look back at the previous threads or posts.

Maybe a few of us enjoy rehashing the same topics. Again, if you don't like it, please by-pass the messages/posts and move on. Or better yet, start a new thread that might be of interest to all the fans of Styx regarding their music, airplay, concerts, reviews, etc. That sounds good.

Duh, I'm on Dennis' side, big deal.

THAT is exactly my point. There are too many people here who play that game. Instead of just talking about Styx, they have to talk at Styx fans, or talk at Dennis fans. One 'side' against the other. THAT is why I don't get involved much here...because the EXACT SAME THING goes on in Journey forums.

What is there to say?

Styx isn't Styx without Dennis.

Why? Styx was still Styx for EotC.

But, Tommy wasn't a founding member.

So? Styx didn't have much success until after Tommy joined.

What about Lady?

What about MoM and SiR?

Dennis produced the sound that Styx is known for.

JY, Tommy, and the P brothers PLAYED the music that Styx is known for.

and it goes on and on and on. The conversation is infinitely recycled like a fountain in an office building lobby...and the EXACT same thing goes on in Journey forums. So, YOU tell ME, what does this forum have to offer me but more of the same?
Why do you pretend that you are posting such things as a benefit to Styx fans when all you are really doing is purposely adding fuel to the DeYoung fans fire?

If people weren't whining on here about any of the members this forum wouldn't be as fun

So, you're saying that talking about Styx music without the added controversy isn't any fun? What you posted is a sad thing to read. I remember a time on Prodigy and GEnie when I could read 100 posts a day about Styx and hardly any controversy existed at all. It showed up once in a while, but rarely.
