DDY and JY question...

Postby DarrenUK » Tue Jan 18, 2005 6:43 am

Just as a matter of interest if it had been JY replaced by someone and not Dennis would you that are anti current Styx still be anti Styx with DDY and not JY.

Would Madam Blue change her name to Homewrecker ?...lol
Pieces of Eight would become Eddie ?

I was not around here from the start so this question may of already been asked and answered previously.
If you believe in only classic Styx you would say yes ide still be anti Styx. And those that are anti current Styx did you attend any shows on the EOTC tour or buy the CD?

For me it would depend wholly on the music. The last studio album with Dennis (BNW) was a big letdown for me. If Tommy and Dennis (sans JY) could release an album comparable in quality to Cyclorama, then I would feel much the same way as I do now (about the current lineup). Since the only JY songs I ever seem to hear at shows are Miss America and Snowblind (which are not two of my favorites), I'd probably prefer Dennis for the live shows. Of course, I might have to travel a little farther than I do now to see the show!

I did not attend any EOTC shows. I only liked Not Dead Yet and Love At First Sight from that album and did not realize they would still play some of the Tommy tunes, so I was not interested. I did hear the new lineup play Love Is The Ritual a couple of times, and only very recently have I started to get into that song. In hindsight, I probably would've gone to an EOTC show.

Styx will be Styx, no matter who is in it! Wrong, Dennis, or Tommy would have to be in the group for it to be Styx. Would be nice if both were in it together! BUT i WOULD SEE ANY LINE UP OF STYX. Saw the Edge tour, and have the cd and a copy of a show in California. Glenn did great on the Tommy songs, and his input on the Edge cd was a lot better than his input on their Cly. cd. LArry is doing good, and all the band seems to be having a good time, as long as the cd are good, I'll buy, and keep seeing them live, to try and catch a flame of the past.-ERIC

Yep, I agree, dudes and dudettes - LOL

Darren, I'd still keep my name "Suite Madame Blue" on here because I love the song and I'm so sweet - LOL JUST KIDDING!!!!!!!

When Tommy left Styx, I still supported the band. He wasn't kicked out. I supported the band when he came back. If JY left or was kicked out and Dennis was still in the band, I'd still support the band.

If JY left or was kicked out ide support the band ?????

But it would not be classic Styx. I thought that the arguement was about the current band not being classic Styx.

I would support them also if JY left OR was kicked out.

Saying that if DDY burped in a jar and released it on a CD some on here would say its a musical masterpiece.

At least the complaining that the current Styx is not classic Styx can now end.....as with DDY coming back and JY being kicked out it still would not be classic Styx.
