Complete Wooden Nickel Recordings on ITMS

Postby Panjandrum » Sat Feb 26, 2005 8:07 am

Just found out about this (released the 15th of this month), and found it on the iTunes music store.

Very handy for those who only need a clean copy of "Unfinished Song"...
==========================
Wait, someone who likes Dennis & the
new STYX also? Yep!

The remastered songs are worth the investment of the full cd. Even if you do have them on cd already.

If you can't find the cd in your local music stores, you can order it on-line. Here are a few sites :)

Walmart (19.88 plus shipping)

http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product. ... id=3555422

Best Buy (19.99 plus shipping)

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp ... pe=product

Amazon (14.99 plus shipping)

Did I already mention to everyone that I can't wait to hear "Unfinished Song" live??? Just thought I'd mention it again, March is almost hear :)

I would be willing to bet this release was a Dennis motivated release
Maybe another reason Shaw had a hissy fit ,

I have no reason to think this was a Dennis motivated release. I think it's smart business for him to capitalize it's being released in general.

I'm looking forward to getting my copy as well.

2 reasons look at Amazon it shows this new cd next to Dennis Live CD
Also Dennis is the one promoting it
I would say this was Dennis's idea to release this
It sure looks that way ,

And for a while Dennis' cd was matched with Styx Anthology...not much to base the assumption on. As for him promoting it, it's smart business. I'd venture at some point Styx will add some Wooden Nickel material as well.

I don't think Dennis was behind the release of this. And if he was, then I'm wrong, and good for him.

Peace,

Sadie

I don't think anyone had any say over the release of this compilation other than the record label.

I just played portions of mine and the re-master sounds very good.

I thought the liner notes were...interesting. As were the pictures included. The second picture in the booklet took me awhile to figure out who Dennis was.

I am very glad to have this one in my collection, though, I must say.

I'm with Bugsy,

It was a label release that Dennis probably jumped on board with. Not surprised it would be matched up with Dennis cd.

And other than it is connected to Styx by name, why would Tommy push it. It was all material recorded before he was a member of the band and he would have no emotional attachment to the music.

I am surprised though that Tommy or JY hasn't spent a few seconds promoting it, because some publicity is better than no publicity.

I do know that Dennis didn't have input with the Anthology cd. Obviously he didn't have anything to do with the Rockers cd. Tommy and JY picked the songs with that cd, along with the record company.

I'm pretty sure that Dennis didn't have input in the releasing of the latest Wooden Nickel cd, that it was the record company. I think it's great that he's promoting it!!!

Sadie - "Unfinished Song" !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

LOL!! I really feel sorry for everyone that will be around me when "Unfinished Song" is played in Chicago. At least everyone's been warned :)

The re-mastered version really sounds nice in the new CD.

Look out, House of Blues, when that number comes up on the setlist!

:P

Hogwash... it's a scheme to keep you buying CD's... These sound no better than my copies already converted to MP3's. Sorry to be blunt, but I've given up on the "I must own everything by the band even the rehashed-remarketed stuff that has a new album cover picture."... god the amount of $$$ I used to spend on this I can now use to go to the strip club (JOKE... just seeing if you're awake)... however I really don't buy remarketed music.
