Seeing that this is the standard that some in here seem to rank Styx under.

What classic rock bands have actually charted on the top 40 pop charts in the last ten years? (U2 doesn't count)

Maybe it's me, but I areally don't consider Bon Jovi a Classic Rocker. I have always considered him a pop artist. But I can accept it.

Could someone help me out with the songs that the groups actually charted with.

Not trying to be a jerk about it, I just don't know...

I Don't Wanna Miss A Thing and possibly Jaded by Aerosmith?

Silver Springs by Fleetwood Mac?

Promises by Def Leppard?

Smooth by Santana/Rob Thomas (doubtful it would've w/o Rob)

Does Cher count as a classic rocker? JK

I'm not really sure about any of these I've listed. Someone with more knowledge help me out.

Fleetwood Mac had a charting hit off of their latest release, the one witout Christine McVie...I want to say it was called Dreamcatcher, or Peacemaker or something like that.

I say C McV is sorely missed, though I have no objection to them trying to move on without her......it was her choice to step aside/out.

Eagles Charted with a new song, A hole in the..........cant remember what the hole was in, might have been " the World"

Sir Paul has to have charted SOMETHING in the last decade.......don't know what though.

Elton John lite hit the charts with the Lion King song ( bleach ! )

Has it really been over 10 years since we last saw Sting crack the top 40 ?

Sting just did a show in Madison WI, sold about 5,000 tickets, so I'd say his popularity is on the wane....

I'm sure he has enough cash so he can retire at the time of his choosing, so dont shed any tears for ol' Gordon Sumner

Keep in mind he always has the inevitable Police Reunion tour to count on.

I'm sure that will happen eventually.

Unless Sting becomes destitute, I doubt we will ever see this happen.

The Police regularly got into screaming matches, and fistfights, when they were together. Don't know about the screaming, but I don't think Dennis and his bandmates ever degenerated into physical confrontations back in the day.

Apparently the brief reunion The Police did for the R & R Hall of Fame was a near disaster as well.

I think it will happen though regardless... there are many bands that have reunited even when they still hate each other. Kiss was one.

Bugsy touched on something that I had heard as well. When they were trying to decide on a songlist for the HOF induction, Stewart Copeland was bitching about the fact that his drumming (which is quite good actually) was not being featured enough. This is the same kind of crap that broke up the Police in the first place.

If you've ever seen or heard Stewart do an interview, he comes across as a ever-so-slightly more sedate version of David Lee Roth. It's all about Stewart, all day. I can see why the tantric Sting would want to have little to do with him.

Let's face it Stewart gets no love (other than the occasional movie score-see Princess Bride) if it doesn't have something to do with the Police.
