Actually, I consider Pete Townshend to be "The Who".

I still don't care for most of the songs on the cd, never liked the originals, don't care for the covers. I don't like "trippy" music. I can't stand the Who, Jethro Tull or the Beatles. Oh and I'm glad bowling is over, I can't stand the Doors music either (some guy played it all the time when we didn't get the juke box first-LOL) Ack, that's just my opinion. I'm an 80's girl - LOL

I did give it a few more listens to be fair.

The only song that I like is "Can't Find My Way Home", but I still like the House of Lords version better. I don't care for that original either by Blind Faith.

I just can't listen to that "It Don't Make Sense" song with JY singing. ACK, this song would've been better vocally if Tommy sang it.

Not much of a review.

Tommy's voice is still good. Don't care for JY's. Don't care for Larry's, not comparing it to Dennis', just don't care for it.

I hope to get a copy of the Shaw/Blades cover cd. I'm sure I'll get a freebie

Re: I can see for miles ( on Big Bang )

That's definately Tommy on Lead Vocal.......I really like their treatment of this song......EXCEPT near the end where Tommy takes the Lyric

"Here's a poke at you........" up an octive. It sounds very strained, he sounds like a little kid trying to sing out of his range IMO.

Not enough of a "problem" to make me give it a thumbs down or anything
but I sure would have liked to been in the producers chair for that session !

( Damn backseat drivers !!!! ) I'm still planning to review all the tracks when I have some time.

DeeJay....

Added;

I Don't Need No Doctor is really good....The bad part of this album is that I can't get into JY's songs....

I too did not like ANY of JY's songs........ but now Locamotive Breath is starting to grab me. Its kind of like Homewrecker the way he sings it!

When I reviewed the CD I gave JY strike 3 on Locamotive Breath. Now I am calling him back in the box the catcher dropped his foul tip.

His other two songs though I dont like at all.

I heard I Dont Need No Doctor again today. It sure is getting shown some love here on Houstons Classic Rock station. It is VERY rare that a 'classic rock' act gets new songs played on the radio.
