Vocals on Find the Cost of Freedom

Who is the 3rd vocalist on this short piece ? The harmonies are EXCELLENT ! If it can be confirmed to be Larry, it will be very confounding to me.......the voices blend so well.

could it be Ricky ?

With 24 views and no responses, it's apparent no one know the answer
to my question........but nobody has an opinion or a comment ?

I say it cant be Gowan, because his voice doesnt blend that well with the others voices......

I dont know anything about Ricky's voice though, is he a career backup singer in his prior bands ? Has he ever done lead vocals on anything anyone here has heard ? Can Todd sing ?

Or has Gowan been fooling many of us ?

To answer a couple of these question,

After listening to it a few times with a set of headphones on, Larry is definitely in there. Not as up front as Tommy or JY but he is definitely there. I can also hear Ricky in there too.

Todd does sing. But he doesn't like to. In fact if you watch the RTP DVD, you can see him singing. I did ask him about singing in an old Dear Todd that is gone since the facelift on the site. And he basically said that if he doesn't have to, he doesn't.

Ricky as far as I know has always been in the background/backup singer category. I have been up close and heard him sing and he does a great job, but like Todd, he doesn't have a real desire to sing Lead.

So I guess the last answer would be, "Yes, he is fooling you" but Cost of Freedom appears to be four part harmony not three which is why it is so full. But the harmonies are great.

Thanks SFNH........I appreciate the time/effort you went to. Some headphones manufacturer will eventually want to thank you too, as I'll be scurrying out to buy a good set as soon as I have the cash to do so.

I can only hear the 3 parts on my car stereo, which to be very kind to it, isnt high end equipment.....I wonder if I'm hearing Ricky or Larry singing the 3rd part ? ( a third up from the melody )

That is Larry up the third, but in all honesty it is pretty well burried. The melody has Ricky in it but Larry is still there. Definitely some pst production blending on volume levels but Larry's not so far burried that you can't hear him.

Matching harmonies to me has a big part to do with the person behind the mixing board. Granted the talent has to be there, but poor balance will kill a song.

They defintiely got this one right.

For some artists its only Pro Tools that makes them successful. At least with these guys it's talent.
