1999.....the last time the "big 3" from Classic Styx played together.
So let's say the nearly impossible were to happen, and DDY rejoined Styx.
IMO too much tme has passed for any chemistry to be rekindled.....the rest of the band ( Except Ricky ) has nearly 7 years of common experiences and bonding together sans Dennis.
They would always be talking about him behind his back, and he would be a complete outsider..........4 against 1, so to speak.
So, the best I think could ever be hoped for would be a 1 show reunion ala Pink Floyd at Live 8........
thoughts ? 7 Years is a long time.

Styx is a novelty act singing covers who needs em
When Dennis puts out a new cd it will even boost him higher.
Styx can run around collecting checks I really careless about them
Its a shame was a huge Styx fan for 25 years until they blew it.
I finally bought “Cyclorama” and in my opinion Styx is far from novelty act, this is great stuff. Only track I don´t like is “Kiss your ass goodbye” which sounds like Offspring or Bad Religion. I think Dennis is the one who is novelty act until he can put out anything comparable to “Cyclorama”.froy wrote:Styx is a novelty act singing covers who needs em

Ah, so that is why he performs Styx songs in concert. I see...he doesn't need Styx at all. That's why he attaches the Styx name when he promotes himself...he doesn't need Styx. His solo stuff carries all the weight. Sure it does.
The point was ginga that Dennis does not need to share the stage with the Legend and the David Spade look alike,Styx is a novelty act singing covers who needs em
And, Dennis is a novelty act pretending to be a broadway star. Don't forget to call your local PBS station in support of Hunchback!
Hunchback is a fantastic cd and the PBS move was a huge move on his part , Free TV exposure your obviously not smart enough to see that,When Dennis puts out a new cd it will even boost him higher.
Yeah, that Christmas song just thrust him up even higher. He can't do any wrong. It's like, number one on the charts and everything. Wow, I hear it all the time on the radio!
Was not intended for that but Im glad you hear it all the time on the radio.,Its a shame was a huge Styx fan for 25 years until they blew it.
You know, a while back, I was reading old alt.music.journey msgs...In the beginning, you came VERY close to calling Dennis a LIAR when he started performing.
Yea right .
Is this another take somthing out of context thingEither he had light sensitivity, or he doesn't...that's what YOU said. So, it wasn't 'until they blew it'...it was until YOU decided they blew it.
My point was that Styx has already written one good album without Dennis so there´s no reason it couldn´t happen again.froy wrote:As far a cyclo blab that band has broke up so its not even the band you see today ,
Suite... get back on your meds.

When 600 people show up to a LA show you can say they blew it
Every show they play they give away thousands of free tickets just to make it look sold out .

One With Nothing is the only good tune,

What you dont like Killing The Thing That You Love with all the references to your hero ?
In my opinion These Are The Times is the best cut on the CD.
On Dennis's next CD if there are 10 songs on it what percentage of them will be ballads about his wife his daughter his goldfish or his dog ?

It's called the having to much money disorder.
Dennis sold his songs to VW and the Adam Sandler movie which made him more money than any summer tour . Also Dennis Manalow is stuck in the ballad mode and won't rock anymore, So every Styx show will feature his same tired old ballads like, Babe Show Me The Way ,The Best Of Times etc. Dennis will never revisit any of his past obscure songs like Pieces of 8 , Father, Why Me, Back To Chicago, and Even Desert Moon which was his solo hit that most Styx fans would love to hear. Now as far as any condition IM puzzled as to why he can do some shows and not others , If he's sensitive to light that he should be limited to no shows.
When 600 people show up to a LA show you can say they blew it

Point is that while out propping himself up with Styx songs, he goes to PBS stations asking support for a PBS HUNCHBACK production. That's where his mind has been stuck for over a decade.
Nobody hears it on the radio...and if it wasn't intended for radio, why was Suite pointing out that it was being SENT TO RADIO?
I think at this point in time, with as much that has come out and as much time that has passed, I find myself more and more in Sadie's camp. A forced reunion would only make them ALL look like sell-outs. Better for Dennis to do his solo thing and Styx Syx to be playing smaller venues than to play one 'we're only doing it for the bigger paycheck' reunion show.

Cuz I have it ON TAPE. He said that people calling in during his show is also showing support for the idea of PBS doing a Hunchback production!

I know, nevermind, sorry. Bugsy reminded me that I have all his PBS Pledge drives on tape & DVD. I just didn't have time to view them all.

LordofDaRing wrote:As far as who is a novelty act, well lets put it this way, would anybody attend a STYX show if they just did new material or a Dennis show for that matter. Naturally Dennis is going to do Styx songs, the ones he wrote and sang on, they are his songs. Styx is still doing his songs too.
