I can almost gaurantee you that if Styx and Dennis played in this town that Styx would have twice the audience of Dennis. If Styx is worthless then Dennis is worthless divided by 2.

That is not what I said
I said if Shaw played a show Young played a Show and Dennis played a show Dennis would out sell them both combined.

Don't say things ya can't back up with solid evidence,.

Oh, you mean like Dennis did Edge without Tommy because of Tommy's coke habit?

Never said that
You made that up.
It was more like Dennis did 3 solo cds because of Shaws coke spoon.

Or, how about the one about bringing drugs into Dennnis' house?

true story .

Maybe the three days airplay for BBT?

Fact in Chicago

Or, all of the BS about the VW comercial being the reason Tommy/JY moved on without Dennis?

Don't forget the 500 thousand bucks he got paid
Yep total fact If you talk to insiders
But not in your town.

You have no 'solid evidence' for any of the above but you repeatedly claim it as fact.

So I ask you to prove what your saying and you weasel out buy bringing up things I said. Thats a nice way to try and get out of your BS.

So, according to you, he couldn't get a the deal HE wanted for Styx so he moved back into Hunchback land...and dropped Styx. Then, after Hunchback was dangling by a thread, he went back to Styx.

That sounds more like reality .

THAT sounds VERY much like what JY was saying when he said Dennnis was using Styx at HIS convenience...Which is yet another reason for Styx to move on without him.

Did JY say that they could not get a deal without Shaw being there?
Of course not he just blamed Dennis.
The record companies wanted the 3 guys at least thats why NO DEAL
It had nothing to do with Dennis and Hunchback and his convienience.
They did not want Edge 2.

Without Dennis DeYoung they would not even be on a stage in the first place

What was that you said about not saying things without 'solid evidence'. There is NO evidence to support the statement above because you are inventing an alternate history...NOBODY KNOWS WHAT WOULD HAPPEN.

Take away every song Dennis did with Styx and take away Dennis and you have no band. You think JY was going anywhere but the wedding market. Thats a safe bet, As far as Shaw the guy was playing Bowling alleys . Solid evidence is not needed just look at where they were at the time

I am not a person who accepts half-assed concept albums and mediocre pop crap as 'Styx' (or Journey). Edge was better then Kilroy, but they both still suck.

And your also a person who say's BBT was a terrible idea and then a week later changes his mind. We call that wishy washy .

I listened to One With Everything again and it is a very good song. It is the standout song on that album I think, no question. For one thing, it was one of the few on that album where they were not using the words and titles of pre-written songs to chop Dennis into little pieces.

So, in other words, an early 1990's Bob Berger used a time machine to travel forward in time to 1997-ish to witness the implosion of DDY-era Styx only to travel back in time to write those Dennis hating' lyrics to "Lennon's Assassin" for Glen Burtnik (who no doubt used an Ouija board and jiggled a pair a goats testicles himself to glimpse thru time to witness the imposion, too) who then laid a demo, where the song remained shacked up on a DAT somewhere in his cellar -- never seeing the light of day until it was included on Cyclorama under the moniker "Killing The Thing That You Love"?!?!

Interesting. I always thought that writing and singing a song that slams on a previous singer of a band years before the band had gotten around to firing the said singer in question in the first place simply defied the laws of physics, logic, and common sense. Looks like you've either got one on me or we don't live on same planet together. :P :D

If only Dennis' last name was Yankovic, that accordian could have been his ticket....... :D

No, the point wasn't NOW... the point was if Dennis had stole the name in 1999 instead of Tommy and JY.

Duh.

And, what I have been saying in this thread is that Dennis is no where near as 'popular' as Styx. Since you are basicaly just trying to change the subject, I guess that means you are giving me that point.

As IML says, "typical".

Oh, you mean like Dennis did Edge without Tommy because of Tommy's coke habit?

Never said that
You made that up.
It was more like Dennis did 3 solo cds because of Shaws coke spoon.

That is an absolute LIE. YOU said it and now don't want to admit to it. Typical.

Or, how about the one about bringing drugs into Dennnis' house?
true story .

With absolutely NO hard evidence or reason to believe.

Maybe the three days airplay for BBT?
Fact in Chicago

And, NOT a fact nationwide.

Or, all of the BS about the VW comercial being the reason Tommy/JY moved on without Dennis?

Don't forget the 500 thousand bucks he got paid

With absolutely NO hard evidence to back you up.

So, perhaps YOU should play by YOUR OWN RULES and not post such things without hard evidence to back you up.

Did JY say that they could not get a deal without Shaw being there?
Of course not he just blamed Dennis.

Of course he didn't say that. But, YOU said Dennis turned down contracts because he didn't get his million dollar signing fee. YOU blamed Dennis.

The record companies wanted the 3 guys at least thats why NO DEAL
It had nothing to do with Dennis and Hunchback and his convienience.
They did not want Edge 2.

And, now you are changing your reasoning again. First it's million dollar signing bonus and now it's because of Tommy. You flip-flop as much as much as a politician runnirg for office.

BTW, I wouldn't want Edge II either...Suck part 2 doesn't interest me.

Take away every song Dennis did with Styx and take away Dennis and you have no band.

Seems to me that there were two brother playing together before Dennis turned up. You don't know what would have happened. Nobody does. It's wishful thinking on your part.

And your also a person who say's BBT was a terrible idea and then a week later changes his mind. We call that wishy washy .

It was more then a week later, a couple months later. The music changed my mind...in fact, I bet it changed a lot of people's minds.

LOL...you know Froy loves these alternate history things, so of course he believes this is possible.

Well, your point is moot cuz it didn't happen. You're just making up another of those alternate timeline things.

Why is it that people who try make a point sometimes make up a fictional history to account for the descrpencies between what is, what was, and what should be. Perhaps it's all in their state of mind.

Monker,

Even though the other thread got locked, and although he has teeth that the druids could use as a place of worship, I'm probably the only person besides yourself who knows who Dwayne Dibbly is. Still, pretty funny otherwise.

I guess I should be thankful that you didn't compare Dennis to Billy Doyle whose cologne is Eu De Yak Urine. :D (Dwayne and Billy are characters from a TV show, so don't everyone go have a cow). :)

Shhh, everybody is sposed to be thinking I'm a flaming mad prick...Not that it's all laced in sarcasm.

If I wanted to make it 'more' obvious, I'd just call him Rimmer.

Of course not.

But, Dennis is still a vampire who sucked the life out of Styx until his true nature was brought out into the light and he sued the band and lost his position in the band forever.

Don't blame Dennis for this atrocity that tours under the Styx name... that sucking sound you hear is Tommy and JY padding their retirement accounts.

Blame him? I thank him for finaly getting himself kicked out of Styx. I don't think Styx could exist with him.

Oh, I thought it was one of Dennis's minions biting your neck. They mostly come out at night. Mostly. Just ask Froy.

Monker is just a bitter old man who can't fathom the fact some people value more than just the name on the marquee.

Yeah, my blood is a bit bitter...I guess that's why I haven't been taken yet. Maybe some day.

Values? You don't need no stinkin' values to post the way you do.

And I repeat...

Monker is just a bitter old man who can't fathom the fact some people value more than just the name on the marquee.

As long as the marquee says "Styx" that's all that matters to him.

Very sad indeed.

P.S. I'm not going to address your homoerotic fantasies of men biting your neck.

I find it funny that someone will go this far out of their way to defend both the current Styx and Journey lineups.

Man you have no shame.
