Why do you think Styx never played Europe and Japan between 1981 and 2000 ?
Answer Dennis DeYoung and his wife....there can be no other reason as light sensitivity ws not invented back then.
Lets see if DDY cares about Styx fans in Europe and Japan we can tell how much he cares when he announces his European dates.......anyone know the European dates of his tour yet ????? as i like others want to purchase a ticket....as soon as anybody knows them please post them especially the London show.....WOW...just heard Dennis,s European tour dates they are listed below...........
Okay, that's like the fifth time you've brought this up. Let's talk time line here...
1981...Styx finishes Paradise Theater tour. Head home. Take some time off befor Kilroy is recorded and released.
1983...Kilroy Was Here is released. Band has to wait to go on tour because Tommy Shaw injures his hand.
1983-Early 84,... Tour ends. Band takes hiatus.
1990...Band reforms without Tommy (and yes I know why Tommy wasn't there)
1991...record company drops Styx, band disbands again
1995...Band re-records Lady for Greatest Hits cd.
1996...Return to Paradise tour, band not expected to do well, does surprisingly well. Second tour planned.
1997...Return to Grand Illusion tour...very short, not received well.
1998...band starts recording Brave New World...health issues, old squabbles, etc. cause friction in band.
1999...Dennis wants 6 months, band says no, starts tour without him
Please note, I am trying to point out time line here, no sides.
So where in there is it Dennis' or his wife's decision to not tour. The band wasn't together all that much in the time period you named?
I'm sure Dennis probably didn't want to tour Europe all that much (no offense). And I'm sure it ticked off you and many other fans. But I know I have more respect for someone in the entertainment industry for wanting to be a part of raising their kids themselves, than for someone who pawns off that responsibility to others so they can be gone for months at a time. It's a values thing. Not saying it's wrong for those that do, but I like the fact he chose to be more involved with his family.
