"Open the Door", although not live, is a great disc. I think, his best solo effort.

I agree up next

Crap, I missed that. But Hodgon's "Don't You Want to Get High" is on NOW. Good stuff. Haven't heard that in a while. I'm not at my home PC too terribly much, unfortunately. Too many hours in the office.

I really dont like Billy Joel. I thought that his album The Stranger was very good and brilliant. His music is actually very boring for the most part. I am stunned that he wasnt the one to release Call Me.

Stay the noit and Drive are zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

I like Cars 1 not sure about 2

For any who care, or didn't know already, sounds like the Ric Ocasek version of the Cars (less Benjamin Orr, obviously), are going to release a new album. I never really got them. A like a few of their songs. I actually like some Ocasek solo stuff better.

Hey Froy, did you trip over the cord? Please plug it back in. I'm doing bills, and it went silent.

George Michael is such a good singer. I don't think that his vocal out does the McCartney version on Let it Be Naked (just always been a personal favorite), but Michael does a great job. I remember watching the Tribute to Freddie Mercury and George Michael utterly stole the show. He was absolutely brilliant. It's too bad his life is so screwed up.
NO. He's NOT Steve F'ing Perry. But he's Arnel F'ing Pineda and I'm okay with that.

Agreed. Hadn't thought of him in a while. He is a terrific vocalist, and yes, he completely nailed Mercury (wasn't it "Somebody to Love"?). His "Older" disc is terrific, as is the one before it (the name eludes me).

Yup. Somebody to Love. I was actually amazed at how crappy other bands were that day. Extreme had a chance to really steal that show as their playing and arrangments were awesome. However, Cherone's pitch was so off that it just killed their performance for me.

Froy's station plays a lot of Yes.
Man, I really WANT to like them. Musically brilliant. Vocally good too. But I cannot stand their lyrics. They make absolutely no sense (most of them).
Like one of those 70s bands that'd sing about Druids and stuff. Just can't get into them. Liked 90125 and Big Generator, but man the rest of their stuff is just too lyrically out there for me... bummer cuz it's interesting musically.

oh man, tough. Yesterday you played the Bee Gees doing "Islands in the Stream". Dude, that song was stuck in my head all day. I'm not into it at all (though they're cool) but holy crap I couldn't pull it out of my head to save my life.

The Carpenters? When I used to hear them on the radio it wanted to make me kill someone. They must of had "Backward Satanic Messages" in their music. :D

Oh lordy.Jon is your favorite singer?
So when Yes toured with the Buggles guys(and without Jon), and with the guy from Montreal(from the clone Yes band) in his place, your nuts must have turned from prunes to raisins.
You must have 50000 posts on a Yes board/forum somewhere.?
Jesus loves you ,but everybody else thinks you're a knob.

That's because Jon is a complete and utter LOON! The first time I ever met him I was right out of high school, low man on the totem pole at a local music rag in Atlanta, and got assigned Anderson, Bruford, Wakeman and Howe because nobody else wanted it . . . which was cool because I was way into it. I get to the hotel, and basically because I was such a nobody I was getting a few minutes in the lobby as the guys were coming back from soundcheck before they went upstairs. I'm talking to Jon, and I ask him what the song "Holy Lamb (Song For Harmonic Convergence)" was about, and he proceeds to explain to me his belief that one day all the planets are going align a certain way, and then the mother ship is going to come down and take away the faithful! Man, was I ever surprised at that. I wish I could go back in time and see the look on my face.

This has been the story with Yes for a long time. Funny thing I loved Drama, the tour sucked.
Benoit is a fine singer. Jon seems to have slowed down after his near death experience.
This will make what the 5th or 6th YES. Jon and Rick off doing there thing YES trying a you tube singer,
Saw 1 show it was ok Onward and Drama stuff was great. Probably wont go again.
With Jon in YES 5 shows min each tour. Benoit maybe 1 ,

Drama
90125
ABWH
UNION
Benoit

No big deal it's not YES
ABWH was but the name was not there,

This is just my personal opinion, but I think the Yes guys have really wanted a reason to ditch Jon for decades. He claimed he had an illness, they believed he was either making it up or making it out to be far more serious than it was. They took the opportunity to move on by leveraging him out. He feels wronged. Each side believes it is justified in its position.

Jon's not too sick to work with Yes now, obviously. He's been out working and he's doing this thing with Rick. But they don't WANT him back. There are all the same issues here as with other bands . . . ego, money, control, ego, musical differences, ego, money, scheduling differences, and ego. And did I mention ego and money?

Benoit David sings the songs well, but I laugh out loud every time I see him dressed in Jon's Keebler Elf costume. It's ridiculous enough on Jon . . . don't make it worse by emulating his goofy wardrobe! Shit, spend some of that per diem and get a decent wardrobe.
