There were some stupid points like "what not to do to your Roboto"....Kicking a roboto in the lug-nuts was kind of stupid(even though Roboto's response was funny)...

Though I'm not a big fan of the film, I confess my immature side got the best of me and I couldn't help but giggle at this point. :D

Seems to be still relevant to me. Since I was wasn't reading this forum back when this thread was started I'll chime in now.

Personally, Styx never lost me until the line up change in '99. All through the previous years I was "along for the ride". The changes in musical styles never bothered or disappointed me. Maybe it's because I always saw them as a band with diverse musical styles. That's one of the main things I liked about them. But when it came to booting DDY it just wasn't the same band anymore to me. For me something was lost and I just couldn't get into the current Styx.

the change in musical styles to me is usually something i look for and expect with bands that I follow for a long time.

styx never really lost me at any point……i don't like kilroy as much as pieces of eight….but i still enjoyed kilroy and thought there were some great songs on it.

as writers you get bored and most times you want to branch out a bit. so as a queen ,rush, king's x, kansas and pink floyd fan….i have learned to embrace the changes.

some changes i liked better than others of course……but overall i still consider paradise theater one of their best albums.

At the time(1983/84) Styx lost me with side 1 of Kilroy. I thought they had turned into an English techno club party type of group.

They almost lost me when I heard the early single release of Love Is The Ritual, but then I got the album, heard Show Me The Way, and all was good.

i was actually pleasantly surprised by "love is the ritual" when i first heard it…but i could understand some folks not being all in with it.

once i got the album i was very pleased with it initially……the only clunker was "home wrecker"……..terrible song.

the album has not held up as well for me as what i thought it would do……still to this day "all in a day's work" is the best song on the album for me.

I remember hearing LITR and after it played the DJ said that was the new song by Styx. I was like WTF. If that is Styx who the hell was singing lead on that song? LOL

agreed and that was OK to me.......i like both of those bands.....well ,actually, i love def lep and i like most of what non jovi has done.

to me it was styx trying to change their sound and modify what they do to accommodate their newest member, much in the way they did with tommy when he joined.

the only issue I had with it was that it was several years behind the times.....hair metal was on it's way out and it was unlikely that this kind of song was going to be embraced by radio regardless of who was doing it much less styx by that time.

I liked the song just was trying to figure who was singing lead on it. At that point, I wasn't on any fan mailing lists so I had no clue that they had even regrouped. At least at that point they still could send singles to stations and get them played without having to create a fake name in hopes that it would get played.

same for me.......i had no idea what was going on.....but i knew it meant tommy wasnt there.....because when they said it was styx and it was a "new voice" singing i knew that had to mean tommy was not taking part.....so that bummed me out.....but i liked the album because i felt glenn brought a bit of the uptempo pop rock that tommy did so i enjoyed it and i liked glenn right away.
