That would be the downside of playing Roboto live, I can't argue that.

I think that the people who might complain about this would be the ones who would see the hypocrisy of their performing a song they supposedly despised and that they claim broke the group up.

And I would be one of those.

I'm shocked! LOL ;-)

And I'd be one of those who would remind you that one cheesy song does not a cheesy album/concept/frivolous tour make. :)

Adam: You have a point. In fact, I'll bet that's exactly why they DON'T play the complete song; they hate it. Well, Tommy & JY do.

But I must add that if every act stopped performing songs they personally don't like, the entertainment world would sure be a diferent place. Imagine if you spent a zillion dollars to see The Eagles (or however much they're currently charging for their tickets) and they didn't play a single song you knew?

The big secret is these bands are hoping to entertain their audience.

But in the lexicon of the dysfunctional Styx saga, "Babe' and 'Roboto" are controversial AND wildly successful. They are simply their biggest hits, but I guess the Tommy Shaw led version needs to skirt around that issue. Or chooses to.

In any case, yeah, it'd be hypocrisy for them to perform the song, but I still think they kinda owe it to the audience. I read once that it was Glen who brought the idea of doing the song, adding it to "Edge Of The Century" (which led to the medley idea). Whoever it was, the audiewnce seems to want more.

(And then Frod would get to slam them for doing another Dennis song.)

True, but the more I think about it, it's not very likely that many of those people would be present at a modern day Styx show, anyway.
