DeeJayStyx says:

Getting back to the original question by Sadie;

1. Touring to support the album of new material...Tommy and JY are right to tour to support Brave New World...

2. Public appearences would help like SNL, Jimmy Kimmel, or any other TV show that has a big viewing audience....The Super Bowl is also a good choice....

3. Interviews with Radio stations in cities that they tour in frequently to promote new songs....

4. Videos....

I agree with you DeeJay especially the public appearances. I would like to add there are cities that are adding "Classic Rock" or "80's" stations which help the classic bands. The one here in Milwaukee is pretty good. For example, when an artist comes to visit the station, they'll play a few songs from the past and then also play their new music that they're promoting.

Videos cost too much to make now, which is sad, because I love watching music videos. Videos are a great idea, especially on the VH1 Classic or the other ones that actually play videos.

Good question Sadie :)

Doesn't hurt to hook up with a more modern act, a la Santana with Rob Thomas a few years back. (or Aerosmith with Run-DMC for a more old school example :D )

That is interesting....Here in Rockford we have 2 Classic Rock channels and they did the same thing....Y-95 Interviewed JY over the phone and they Talked about why Glen left....It was part of the station's 3:30 - 3 fer Deal, where they play three songs in a paticular category...They played Fooling Yourself, Miss America, and These Are The Times in order to promote the band and the Cyclorama Album, which I thought was very smart promotion....

The other Classic Rock Station,96.7 The Eagle, also interviewed JY over the phone as part of the morning show (Thread entitled JY interview 7-30) to support Come Sail Away: The Anthology....The DJs made total asses of themselves (but I liked JY's answer as for the split).... This classic station's morning crew has always been disrespectful towards Dennis, saying that being backed by the orchestra is a stupid ideal, that Dennis is broke and the only thing he has left is his keyboard, and other crap like that...

Well, I am glad you liked my answer... :D 8)
