Classic - you are TOO funny in your first post!!!

As for the band Light Up, they're the next best band next to Styx. I have a tape of their concert and I'm putting it together for my show. I just need to add an interview. Awesome, awesome band. I was watching them at Summerfest a couple years ago and quite a few people in the crowd thought it was Styx playing - LOL I posted this information before, Glen was the one that called Bob (the lead singer) to try out for Styx back in 1999. There were a few other bands too that were asked. I guess they sounded TOO much like Dennis.

Don't forget what happened during Tommy's Border's tour. He asked Dennis to come and sing with him in Chicago. What a nice treasure to have on tape.

Sometimes these guys need each other and put their bitterness aside. Do any of you think Tommy and JY are good friends? No they're not and never have been. It's all a business and most of the talking to each have always been through their lawyers.

We'll never know what would have happened if John was still alive and it's too hard to speculate "what if".

Okay, maybe not good friends, but is it safe to say that they consider each other friends, or not? Or would you say they are just business associates? I'm just curious. I guess I don't know much about them personally.

I believe he's been lending his voice for quite some time now to the Human Righs Campaign! Panozzo sites his departure from Styx being partly his health; the other part so he can devote his time to promoting AIDS awareness as well as speaking out on Gay Rights.

Granted, those topics aren't as all important as say plugging DeYoung's latest masterpiece I suppose :roll:

BTW: While you're busy demonizing Panozzo for not cursing Shaw/Young's names, I'd like to point out that Shaw has been very vocal in his support for C.P.
Panozzo also mentions (yes he speaks!) Young by name as standing at his side when he formally came out.
What have we heard from DeYoung's camp (the one who was in the band with him the longest)?

Whatever reason(s) Chuck has for not "siding with"/"supporting Dennis", are his own. Just as they Dennis' own for why he chooses to remain silent about Chuck. Yes, JY was there when Chuck came out ( I have the article from the Chicago paper with the photo of each of them). It's important to note that there was an awful lot of friction between the men when he made the announcement. I could say Dennis remains quiet because he respects Chuck's privacy and decisions...but it would be pure conjecture. Just as it's conjecture to decide that since there is no known public contact between the men must mean one of them is evil or wrong or bitter or whatever. The men have enough going on with just trying to promote themselves and their products. When it comes to their personal lives, I'm quite content to leave their decisions and comments about them alone.

Amen, Sadie. Unless any of them chooses to speak publicly about private things, and they RARELY do, then everything the fans think and speculate about are just that --- thoughts and speculation ... and conjecture.

Most who choose to take this conjecture road come at it from their own prejudices in the matter, as has been well documented here by a few posters, on both sides.

Bottom line is, most, perhaps none, of us simply do not know the truth of the matter.

Point well taken Sadie. I just didn't like Froy acting like CP left Styx in a huff. My point was he has a lot on his plate.

Besides, I think Zan's response to Froy was much more clear and consise than mine!

No it simply means Chuck said he didn't want to wait. BTM had an agenda. It told an entertaining story, however I long ago learned it shouldn't be used to make points in arguments. As for what Dennis did or didn't do to Chuck, I've no way of knowing, so, as much as I like Dennis and Chuck, I think making speculative statements as being facts is...simply weak.

Indeed life isn't easy. To make such assumptions about why the men behaved and apparently continue to behave without knowing their reasons beyond what is public...childish. Whatever regrets these men may have when all is said and done....hindsight is twenty/twenty. It's their business, not mine.

And now that I have publicly demonstrated my own ability to bang my head into my keyboard because I responded to this, I can honestly say I've no intention of continuing to do so on this topic.

You still miss the point that the band's success was dependent on all the members. It was never Styx featuring Dennis Deyoung.

Also nice to know you can look into the past and predict the future of a particular person's life path from a specific point in time. Chuck would have gotten together with other band members and no one knows what would have happened to his music career.

ADAM: To be factual, Chuck has done many interviews in magazines on radio. He has a web site. Froy is the one dissing an original member here by calling Chuck a follower. The guy has come out and spoken about many personal things. I say SCREW anyone who wants to bash him.

And if Chuck hasn't made it obvious where he's at with Dennis then I dunno what it'd take to clarify. His "relative"???? Who CARES if he's a distant relative of Dennis. He has a right to his own decisions.

What bothers Froy is the fact that Chuck is the one who confirms any of JY & Tommy's anti-Dennis sentiment by his actions. The band obviously had HAD IT with the guy, and Chuck agreed.
