Besides the obvious of Pink Floyd & Led Zeppelin.

I also feel the same way about a Damn Yankees reunion. I didn't think there was that many other people who wanted one too. (Actually I've had a theory that Styx should take a year off. Tommy could reunite Damn Yankees for the year. Dennis can finally release 100 Years and tour to support it, and JY can take the time to realize that it WOULD BE beneficial to reunite the original line-up; it The Police can do it, so could they!)

Also, at some point, Van Halen with Sammy Hagar. I am NOT saying I hope for this period with Roth to end in the least. (Saw them at MSG and they KICKED ASS). I just would like to see them with Sammy (with Eddie in good health) at some point in the future).

Except the Police didn't tour continuously for ten years without one of their original members before they "reunited." I really think bringing Dennis back would have little or no real impact to anyone but us hardcore fans (myself, ChicagoStyx, Bugsy and Sadie excluded, lol)

Plus, you're comparing Styx to The Police. That's like comparing Pink Floyd to The Wiggles.

(No disrespect to Styx OR The Wiggles. lol)

I was just thinking of it in the sense of people who are still not the best of friends, being able to put the differences aside and go out and rock the world. (Although, you have made some valid points.)

Pink FLoyd and LEd Zeppelin did it for one night and that was that. Not much of a reunion if they are't going to bring it to their fans.

Well, it could be said that the Police started to see diminishing returns, too. Last year - stadiums. This year - the sheds with lower ticket prices. You can only rape the fans so much. Using the excuse that the sheds didn't exist? Come on.

Zan's right - whatever you think of Styx, they reunited, and then proceeded to tour without Dennis, so there's no novelty. That was 1996 for Styx.

Styx had to have gone away to ensure that if Dennis came back, there would be "impact" (and even that would be marginal at best in terms of numbers). It wouldn't even really impact me as much as it would be nice. What are we going to get? Another hits set except you get Dennis singing his songs (GI, CSA, Lady, RTP) and at least BOT and Babe back in. If you think a potential reunion will be any different I have a bridge somwhere to sell you.
