I am fine, and, honestly, I am not sure why I ever started commenting on this thread other than Sadie's earlier remarks deserved a bit of applause. That, and my inability to avoid the sarcastic rejoinder.

Hope you feel much better and manage to avoid these things in the future! :D

Wishes you a good recovery. Even I gave up on this one. Some people (and I have doubts as to the accuracy of that term-LOL) never change.

Yep I will always stand up for what is right.
The average Joe always believes that everything they read is true.
Todd mentions that he became a Styx fan because of Lady but never uses the word Dennis DeYoung?
Right there you know that article is spun and it was paid for.
Null and Void right there.

My article was the dead on truth and you call it Garbage,

it's just a sad fact - I've said it before & I'll say it again. MANY bands can't succeed wihout their lead singer or a key member from their "most popular years:

Van Halen - shit w/o DLR. Sammy's good, but last year's tour blew anything Sammy ever did straight outta the water...
GNR - never be anything without Slash & Axel together
Journey - so many SP sound alikes it ain't funny - they know they need HIS sound to succeed. The last 2 vocalists prove that.

Styx -never be anything w/o DDY, TS & JY together - their current tours suck royally & Gowan can't do a single song like DDY, even though he constantly tries - he HAS mastered the gay keyboard spinning, leaping ballerina act though.... maybe he & Boy George should get together w/Elton John for a while....

Gowan SUCKS & Styx won't be successful w/o DDY.... if they ever get back together, you watch - the tour will sell out EVERYWHERE they go, then you'll all be saying"Froy & the rest of the DDY fans were right - this is the best lineup".

When I saw them last year with Foreigner & Def leppard, they barely got any applause - most of the whole audience just sat in their seats saying "When are they going to finish - I want to see Def Leppard... these guys are boring & don't sound the same - not even the guy doing Renegade".

While there does not need to be any "stage acting" involved, DDY & Styx NEED each other & so do their fans... If DDY would get in there & just rock, things could happen.

Your right
Take Rubicon, Rain, Save Me , This Time Next Year and I Believe In You add 4 Shaw- DeYoung Tunes with a JY in there and you have a killer new STYX cd. Instead 100 will be a great cd from Dennis that goes nowhere because of the times.

GOD, this is getting old... I feel like I'm on the Journey board, or something (talk about drinking the bath water).

Bands have a falling out. They break up. And, some of them feel the need to carry on, no matter what. Accept it. No whining and bitching is ever going to change that, UNLESS said band members feel the need to cash in BIG (i.e., Van Halen -- if you thought they got together for the fun, read their contract that demanded DLR's dressing room be FAR away from the other band members)! That will be the only reason that Dennis DeYoung *or* Steve Perry ever come back to their bands. Nothing in the music business is ever done solely *for* the fans. Get your head out of the sand already... It is a BUSINESS! If it was all about the fans, recorded music would be free, concerts would be free, and they would be handing you the recorded show as you left the venue.

This crap is sounding more and more like a 2-year old taking a tantrum in the middle of the floor, kicking, screaming, and crying until they get their way. I don't see the band members on any of these forums, do you? Why don't you go complain to Dennis and Styx directly and leave everyone else here alone. None of us have any influence in any outcome, unless their pockets dictate otherwise!

It's about time we realize that bitching on a forum (that has nothing to do with the bands, BTW, in case you've forgotten) accomplishes NOTHING... Only to annoy others who choose to discuss, enjoy, and cherish the music that they love... Whomever writes or performs it.

Geez!

you're right - it is usually done only for money - I think maybe Aerosmith may be the exception to that....maybe...
But that's why I said the BANDS would never get anywhere - they need to recapture what they had in their prime in order to make any money like they used to.

Who the hell are you?
Styx did not break up they sandbagged the guy who made them a success story and went on as if he never was even in the band. You can't lump that into any other band history.
That's what makes this one personal.
Look at any fake interview, they spin it around to there liking ( We are the greatest version ever) Okay JY maybe a 16 year would believe that because they were never around for the real band. So fool yourself and fool them Great way to go through life pal.
