Maybe even a little more. The Def Leppard / Journey tour combo in 2006 cost $250,000 to book.

I just really hope i could do the jobs that i was doing there somewhere else soon. Hell i'll take anything i can get at this point. It's just really frustrating that's there's nothing out there right now.

Tis true...I should be glad I have a job :)

50k is all they are worth if even that

Wow! For once, Froy is right.
The price starts at $100k. But everything is negotiable. If you are a first time booker, they will probably require 100% up front. Otherwise the fee is usually 50% up front and 50% after the show. There is a lot that gets factored in. Their standard fee is pretty close to $50k. But if you are naive, the fee is higher.

Fairly Standard

100K is the going rate for most bands right now. I know that David Cook, and 3 doors down were 100K last summer for a 90 minute outdoor show. I also know that the Styx tour with 3 bands last summer was 250K for the night. A lot of the price depends on if they have shows around the area - helps to keep travel cost down.

100k for Styx is wrong.

Styx, Glass Tiger, and two massive fireworks shows were purchased for New Years at Niagara Falls, CA for 100k

100k??? Hmmm ... getting 3,000 people to pay $50 and another 2,000 to pay $25 gives you a budget of $200,000 right off the bat. Add to that beer sales (or does the venue get that?) and swag and you should be able to recoup the cost of a venue, security and all of the other costs incurred. The price seems about right.

5000 for a Styx only show is a little strong. I would guess Styx averages between 3-4K a night by themselves. Add another Headliner and you can get 7-8k. Still even if you could book Styx for 50k, management gets 15%, Stage Help probably another 15%, travel expenses, 10%, roughly 30k for the band which probably means Tommy and JY split 10k and 10k for the other 3 guys. Still not too bad for one nights work.

Yeah, you're probably right about 5k being a bit lofty. I live in Chicago in the area they formed so I have a bit of a skewed sense of what they can draw. 3-4k sounds more accurate.

How do you "rank a little less". I'd say Tommy and JY rank a lot. I'd say no one ranks as much as those two guys. In fact all of this version of Styx SEVERELY ranks!

Actually, the quote is "The parks commission's budget for New Year's Eve is $100,000, which covers about one-quarter of the event. "

So the cost is $400,000.0, since as they say, the 100,000 only covers one quarter.
