Styx tix are more expensive than Neil Diamond my friend

I've never paid more than $45 for Styx tickets, and these $45 seats were 5th row center, REO Speedwagon as the opener. March 18, 2005 Erie PA

Paid $23 to see John Waite, Kansas, and Styx Feb. 9 2003 Erie PA.

Anytime I've paid more than that, Styx wasn't the headliner.

Go to Rockford the tickets were what 65.00

At least with Dennis the Music was produced right they sounded great and the name was not fucking burned out .
This current band stinks no morals lets call em Stinks

No offense Froy, but DDY isn't schlepping out the Oberheim anymore. Last show I saw it was one of the Orchestral ones 5 or 6 years ago in Chicago. I'll see if things have changed tomorrow, but he's been mainly playing a Motif on stage when he does keys. It is what it is.

My point was Gowan uses a sampled keyboard

I don't go because I've heard the same live tracks and the same banter since I saw them in 1977. Dennis does the same thing. I missed the Cyclo tour (had to work) but I would've saw that. When they release a new record, I'll go to their shows again, or when I see that they're playing a ton of stuff they haven't played live before, I'll go. That takes nothing away from them now as a live band. They're a great live band, but I saw a ton of shows and don't need to see another one till there's something new to see. There's a difference.

What else are they gonna play 'Aku Aku'? I think Tommy's played most of his songs on their tours. I certainly don't need to hear more JY unless it's Midnight Ride or Great White Hope. If Lawrence did all his Cyclo tunes, I'd go. If Burtnik came back and they did his Cyclo stuff, I'd go. If Dennis came back and they did the Return to Paradise Tour stuff- I would STAY HOME.

If Dennis came back and they recorded a new record, I'd go. If he came back and they didn't, I wouldn't.

It doesn't matter, IMO. Great talent was present in 2007 and 2009. But to say that Styx isn't marketable in its current form is ludicrous.
[/quote]

Really put a show on sale in Chicago with STYX only and they would not even sell 2000 seats
Thats ludicrous, The former home town

All I know is that some on this list are under the illusion that current Styx is relevent...and that is clearly not the case. I read it as total top acts of the entire decade...combined.

Those are the top tours, ya fucktard. No one here said they had a top tour. Those are the highest grossing artists in music. Streisand and James Taylor are 48 and 50 for christ sakes. But the challenge was "show me where they ever played to 50,000 on their own." I did. To 70 plus thousand in Quebec City. I never said they do that with every show for 10 years, you poncy hairdresser. Grow the fuck up. You and your cronies find the notion impossible that anyone could enjoy this band without the theatric easy listening song stylings of Dennis DeYoung---and I'm just sayin'.....some do.

You do realize the level of the people you are arguing with, right? On the one hand you have Toph who obviously can't read or comprehend his own list. On the other, you have froy who names himself after Fraulein since he heard it on some movie (though, I think it's gotta be Hogan's Hero's)...and doesn't even realize he's calling himself a little girl.

This forum is just too funny sometimes.

Wow, really? I paid $120 to see Neil in 2008. Didn't know Styx had those kind of prices, luckly I have not paid them.

That's just froy pulling things out of his ass with no fact whatsoever to back it up. I don't think Styx tickets would be anywhere near $120 even if DDY was back with them.

I have seen Neil 40 times and never a tic over 100 unless you buy from a broker

Oh, are you still here? ;-)

I don't go to many shows anymore because they only come to my town once a year, and I have responsibilities now that I didn't have back between 1999-2004. I would love to be able to go to more. I even had to miss Glen's "Abbey Road" show last year - and that sucks!

Well, you've gone so loopy that you reply to this twice. You don't know how to spell "monkey". And, you still have no clue what you're talking about! Too funny!
