It will be very interesting to see the reception (i.e. ticket sales) this generates. It may turn out to be a big positive for them. Or not.

Interesting that the album is a merchandise item after all. For fans of this lineup, I would imagine having the recording will be a plus for them.

It will be a positive thing for the devoted fans that are interested in this version of Styx. Other than that it will go unnoticed.
As far as their choice on how to market the Regeneration album they more then likely did not have much choice. They are a band without a label and I don't think that a label would be interested in it.

Never say never  :D

Well, I am basing this on the fact they are not doing anything new. Plenty of classic artists have done the very same thing. Pink Floyd and Roger Waters come to mind. Both of them have performed the enitre Dark Side of the Moon on their tours. So it's really not something inventive. It's more like coping what other classic bands have done before.

I have to agree with you on this. But just maybe we will get something new. Have you seen PF in concret alot???I bet they put on a great show.

Sadly I never got to see PF in concert. Only on my TV screen. However, I did get to see Roger Waters on tour and he was fantastic which kind of made up for it. What puzzles me is that Styx has not really attempted to try and release a new album lately. Being that they have this new version of the band I would have thought they would have done more. I understand the way the industry is but there are plenty of examples of lesser known bands that have found a way to do it. Which leads me to believe it's more then just the state of the industry. I am not a follower of the current Styx but this just puzzled me.

You would think they would have come out with something.I guess they have there resons why.So maybe one day soon they will.

I get the feeling that when it comes down to it, they really are not interested in doing it. They just want to do concerts. Which there is nothing wrong with that. Bands that really are interested in creating and releasing new music find a way to make it happen.
